SE, that's a pretty disappointing attitude coming from a guy who was involved in thiefpetition.com. Remember how that one turned out? But I guess that was the old version of you.

Its a completely different case though. I'm all for SR being used but you and I both know that firing the guy who is on the job and getting Stephen is much less likely than releasing a piece of bespoke software with little to no real money value.
And you still haven't given me a copy of that article :(

Yeah, the petition is a fantastic gesture to show support to SR, but EM have addressed the issue and won't be changing their minds.
EM were all for using SR too and anticipated disappointment from fans, so it should be apparent that the decision to find another VA was not taken lightly.

Yeah I'm sure it wasn't. They probably had a little "do this or you're fired" encouragement from Square Enix.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me much anymore. I lost most of my interest in the game after all of this. I'll stick to my beloved T1\2\3, and maybe down the road I'll get Thief 4 from the bargain bin just for curiosity's sake.

Romano wouldn't have to be fired, nor would I want that . He would still be the body of Garrett, but SR would be the voice.

Not to mention, he's done the work already, and been paid--aside from any pick-up work before shipping. Unless EM does things unusually, Romano won't get residuals from sales, yet since the contract's already been written up, any work he's done, even if never shipped, his pay is guaranteed. While they blew a bunch of money on too many unimportant things, they've saved back a chunk doing things the way they have having one guy cover multiple bases.
The petition still serves several purposes that we will have to wait years to see how they all play out for or against us.
