I don't like their idea of what old Thief is, so I do not trust for a second Classic Mode will replicate anything classic. I doubt classic mode will even mimic TDS very well, but of the trilogy, I'm certain classic mode will feel like that at most. The modding community, if they won't have a hell of a lot of work to do, will be the people to look to.

Ah, yes.
*Classic Mode*.
I get the feeling that this "Mode" will go down in history as something not so pleasant. God help this new team. I am of two minds on the whole thing. Either they know something we dont know and are going to unleash some classic monster, or its like Horizon says, and they are suffering from delusions of grandeur. Either way, my friend, I shall be amused nonetheless.
Yup. There's one thing about all this that's gonna be for absolute damn sure positive.
Things are gonna be really weird around here this time next year.

You say that as if it's a bad thing.
I've already said this a thousand times before, but I'd rather them experiment...
No, you're not getting what I'm saying.
Experimentation is one thing, but having too much time to think is another thing entirely. It can be bad. It's what happens to games like Duke Nukem and it has pretty much been hinted at with T4 in an interview with the new producer. You lose focus, but you're also able to rationalize almost anything because you've had so much time to think of every angle. Having too much time can lead to essentially covering the same ground over and over again, sometimes coming full circle or ideas that should have been tossed end up on the table because everyone has just had too much time to grow accustomed to them, rather than following a gut instinct.
Speaking as someone who got stuck in a rut for five years, unemployed, hopeless and going in circles trying to think myself out with the same thought patterns...over thinking can kill a project.

Hey Taffers! :)
I'm from Austria, and i also want Stephen Russell back. In the first 2 games, the german speaking Thief fans got two different voice actors, but there sound very the same. In Deadly Shadows we got Stephen Russell, of course, first i was thinking "what the ****? i want my old VA's back, but after a few hours i fall in love with Stephen!
I hope the best for THIEF/ THIEF4 and for the english speaking Thief fans out there. :thumb:

NH, I am not the only person who has stated the obvious. Also, my last post was to respond to a question so it isn't rude of me at all to answer.
There won't be a single fan in the world who wouldn't have loved SR back - so I'm not here to drive in nails either, but sometimes it helps to focus on reason.
The only thing I feel incredibly sad about is that SR won't get to read any of the fan messages on the petition.

Welcome to TTLG, Domey! I saw the vid soon after you uploaded it.

Why not? I'm sure that he has access to a computer and there are certainly other channels to reach him. EM isn't the only place with connections ya'know. :)

That's cool then because it would have been a complete waste of time otherwise. :(

Sorta makes you wonder if he's actually aware of any of the stuff going on around the various forums.
jtr7 on 10/4/2013 at 10:13
I hope not. I can't imagine him reading any of it. We don't even know what happened if he ever took up garrettwannabe's invitation to look at TTLG. I hope he gets to see the appreciation for his work, but all the rest I'm fine with him never seeing.
