Woah, I know I've been away for over 24 hours... but what happened to this thread?!
Things ran amok for awhile; call it a result of fan adoration. And I think the petition got a serious boost when Stephen Russell posted his 'thank you' here (yes, here at TTLG) to all his loyal fans. Perhaps you missed it.

For those who may not know: The numbers in the poll above aren't going to get very high, since people who aren't registered at TTLG can't vote, and members with less than 100 (?) posts can't vote in it.
Make sure to sign the petition, and don't let the poll participation influence you!

Again, I can't help it if some people get irritated. That's their problem, not mine.
Perhaps they are too sensitive.... or biased? After all, I don't fight with people, I don't call people names, and I respect the rules here.
I see others doing exactly the opposite and yet nobody seems to get irritated at that. But not for me to ponder over. :cheeky:
You are, of course, free to have and express any opinion on any matter. That goes without saying. People view your posts questioningly because it seems you fully support everything that EM has done, without so much as a hint of doubt. When not doing so, you come across as subtly belittling the petition, and the notion that we may have an effect. Be that correct or not, that is the impression you give. You may very well be a regular member, and your opinions may very well be genuine, but it is not much of a leap in logic to question your motivations when you seemingly buy into everything EM says and does without question
and have an affiliation with them. That may be unfair, but that's my take on what I see.

I summarized the most pertinent items (to me, anyways) with regard to the recasting of Garrett and Eidos Montréal's flagrant censorship on the issue.
Feel free to spread it around, as it's 100% profanity free.

I'm pretty sure I have fewer than 100 posts and I was able to vote! Woot!! I think I only have about 65 posts(?); if I have over 100 I would be surprised.
To StephenR - Thanks for posting here! That was very kind. Your Garrett voice is truly amazing. Incredible, actually. It's a big reason I fell in love with the Thief franchise in the first place. And when I found out years later that you actually voiced multiple characters in Thief, including Benny and Karras?!!, I was floored. Couldn't believe it. Well done, taffer! Well done. You definitely fooled me :) I am still deeply saddened that a different voice actor is currently planned for the new Thief. Of all things to be changed for the new game, I definitely wasn't expecting this -- especially with Garrett still being the main character. So, I'm a bit shocked, to say the least. If you won't be coming back as Garrett (and I'm keeping that as a big *if* for now, as I'm holding on to all hope that you will be back), then I hope EM gives you an opportunity to play other characters in the new Thief; and that you will have the time to do so, and that you will still want to. Thanks again for all you've done for the Thief franchise. Time for me to load up Thief II here and enjoy your wonderful voicework again, just as I've done the past 10+ years. Have fun with your theater roles! Take care always, -DarknessFalls

Yes...very good, Acer...It's good to see your skills are improving, and that you speak true...You speak well for the cause, and for that I commend you.
UNITE! Let not any agent of Eidos cast doubt in your heart...Rise to the possibilty of what can be done!
