Ok, fair enough, but if that's all you list, it seems to be that you would be happy with nearly anything with Thief written on the box. Just from that, Duke Nukem would be passable.
I really want to think you are just a regular fan, but you don't do anything to separate yourself from EM. You list four things, and they are all things we know are not in the new game. You seem unwilling to say anything that may conflict with what gets released later. You say you are a fan; so be one! What in the original games did you like? What in the original games did you like enough that their absence in the new game would be disappointing to you?
EDIT: you added a fifth thing, but something that again, is already been addressed by EM. I guess Duke Nukem doesnt work anymore. But the point stands.
This will be my first and only post on these forums. I came here because I love the Thief games, have done for a long time, and can't wait for the new one, and this just so happened to be the first post I clicked on.
I read through the thread and what did I find? Anyone who dared to disagree with the petition being told that they're not a true fan or being aggressively and repeatedly accused of being a corporate shill. This is fandom at its utter worst, the kind of "devotion" you usually only see in CoD forums, and it's incredibly disappointing to see that this is what became of the Thief fans.
Maybe there are good people on this site as well, but a lot of you are just plain f*** vile.

What? Shall I count the times that actually happened for you? The number of people who's motives are questioned along that line? Anyone who's kissing EM's bum or Thief[4] or making statements about buying the game sight unseen (as "unseen" as people say regarding our reactions to certain things when we say we don't like what we are seeing/reading/hearing, nevermind all the things we like) is being questioned, not people who merely disagree. Context is critical. A single sentence can contain so many points of perspective, and single attitudes are being called out, so I expect others to not know which point is getting targeted. There's also a ton of history between certain members that make a cursory read look like something else is going on.

You read through
one thread about a petition by clearly upset fans and decided to post one reactionary don't-bother-arguing-with-me post about how much everyone here is mostly vile.
Well played, sir.

Hahaha! I doubt it's them. Well, indirectly, maybe people have swallowed the hype of eye-candy over content. :ebil:
Maybe Cloud's deleting spam or hate messages! I could go for that all the way!
I actually am. I remove any messages that can be offensive/insulting to someone. Be it Orzari, Eidos, or us. Tossing insults at them is not going to help anyone.
However, I don't think it deletes the vote itself, only the comment, since I don't notice a change whenever I remove a comment. Probably someone changing their mind or something.
Also, we've gotten 1200 signs over the course of two days. A huge jump! Don't stop spreading the word, guys. I know I won't.
And thank you, as always.

How many people have to sign for Eidos to get Stephen back?
Has anybody contacted them and recieved a reply about it or how do we know when we reach the goal?

We stop when they get Stephen back, or if the game gets released. Until then, this thing is going to keep up.
We know they're aware of it, since they delete links to it on their forums and their videos. The only direct reply we've recieved to the petition so far is (

Well, the Dark Project sold over half-a-million copies during its initial release, and 3000 signatures is about .6% of the original sales. So, I 'd say somewhere around 250,000 might make them take note.
Sorry, I just don't see them worrying too much about it unless there's substantial opposition toward their decided change in actors.
... and seriously, of those 3000 that have already signed, how many will absolutely
not buy the game if (or purely because) Stephen Russell isn't doing the voice? Be honest.

If it's a good game...I 'might' get it, but if they don't get Stephen back, I'll make sure I don't buy it until it's in the bargain bin for $5. I'm in no hurry to reward them for what I feel is a huge mistake.

If you love it, why do you want it to change?
We love Thief for what it is, and don't want something else.
