I think SR would care. He'd piss people off and everyone would know he'd done it. You don't care but you're not in his position. Good luck with it anyway.

I have to agree with jtr here. I think it might be potential career-suicide if SR agreed to do VOs for any FMs, etc. I don't think the gaming industry would see our pov and it could very well cast aspersions on SR's ethics as a professional in their corporate minds. Afterall, SR has done VOs for a lot of different games/gaming companies and I wouldn't doubt that he may plan on continuing that line of work. Anyhow, I'm sure there's some fine print somewhere that would prevent him from accomodating our request even if he were so inclined. The fact that he declined the same type of proposal once (nicely, though) should tell us that he wouldn't be inclined to accept any offer we might make in the future. I think all we can hope for right now is that EM will change their minds and rehire him for T4.

Well, I wasn't talking about a T4 voice replacement pack, I was coming at it more from an angle of TDM having him as the protagonist in a TDM campaign. A new character, a new voice. I certainly don't think he would do a T4 replacement pack, that indeed would be poor form.
In regards to TDM though, I don't think anyone is actually up to the task of raising the money and working out the insane logistics of pulling it off though. It's all hypthetical.

I had a dream last night that I was playing a demo of Thief 4, and turns out Eidos decided to completely scrap Garrett's voice altogether...

He already turned down working with the community in the past, and I would expect him to graciously decline.\
Curious to know what you're referencing here - what community work did he turn down?
I agree though that if SR has any intention of doing VOs for any future games, taking on a project like this would be career suicide. The reasoning is simple - everyone at EM would not be pleased, and some of those employees will work for other companies in the industry down the road. It's not worth it to him to just take this one job to make a couple thousand bucks when he could be sacrificing much more than that in the future.

This isn't the first thread where the subject came up, but it's definitely the funniest:

Well, no Monday bump up. It's still inching along as fast as it was through the weekend. Fast or slow, don't matter, as long as it's ever upward at the end of the day.

Agreed, jtr.
Keep spreading the word, Taffers. We're not done yet!

Seems like every single thread on the Thief FB page, regardless of topic, mentions Steven Russell regularly and complains he isn't being used. I would imagine EM _has_ to be sweating a bit over the very vocal reactions.
