Best thing to do is expect the worst, hope for the best. That is all we can do. I accepted a long time ago, the game will never capture what it once was, no game can do that anymore. If it even remotely comes close to something I may recognize, I'll take it. It doesn't mean I will rush right out and get the game. No. I plan on waiting, and seeing what is really up, once it is released. Looking at it this way saves me frustration. Who knows we may be surprised, I'm still not counting on it. I've got other stuff to play, FM's, TDM, and am currently running through Amnesia, just made it through the prison, and you know what helped? Crouching......and creeping. Made me undetectable at times. Wonder where I got that from?

I'm inclined to agree here. It makes me glad that I have not been putting much emotional investment into tracking the development of this game over the years.
Even though occasional interview bits in print give the impression that several members of the team really do "get it," (Roy included) that video clip of Roy beginning at 3:06 is pretty telling. "It's Thief," he says
dismissively, with a dash of implied "
just trust me." Never mind the "dangerous" bit, but the comment about people who he believes want the "
same, same, same, same game... just, just, just, just for them..." seems, to me, to demonstrate how exasperated he is with what he perceives long term fans of the Thief legacy want. I believe he may actually misunderstand it, based on this video, but I'm comfortable with the idea that it's just, just, just, just ...
well past the time that the existing fanbase will have any more influence on its outcome.
Then again, I'm just going by the guy's demeanor and body language. Maybe he's just a coarse individual and/or a bad interviewee, I dunno.

This... a thousand times.
Worst case we'll get a few hours of gameplay, hopefully worth the price we pay, and that is all. If that's the case, so what?
We already have
thousands of hours of gameplay we
know we enjoy with a potentially limitless amount in the future.

Hmm. It could just be his "enhanced" or "mechanical" eye revving up. Maybe there's more machinery there under his hood, or maybe...
WAIT.
Wait, guys....
What if...Garrett's a robot?

:laff:...Just some more ridiculous censoring from Eidos.

Eidos will censor anything derogatory, racist etc, as per the rules.
Personally-speaking, I like this sense of responsibility and maturity toward others.
If reports are received, it is acted upon as quickly as possible.
