People
read Youtube comments? :nono:
They're the septic tank of the internet, but they're fun to read sometimes nonetheless.

I thought Google+ had already gone the way of Kirk Douglas...
What YouTube obviously needs is comments scrolling across the screen while you watch, NicoNico style.

I'm split on this. On the one hand I like that Google are rolling up their different services like this. I only have to remember one username and password for my Google Drive, YT, and my Android workphone? Great! And if it brings up the level of discourse in YT comments that's also great.
On the other hand I'm sad to see how the anonymity of the internet is being reduced bit by bit. The ol' Wild West of the early internet is being civilized. When it's gone I'm gonna miss it. Warts and all.

I have to admit I'm wary of posting what I really want to say sometimes because the last thing I want to see is it getting automatically crossposted on my FB feed or the like.
edit = oh flashing not healthy backbackbackback

Oh I do that all the time manually. Get with the program.

The old(er) comments system was a pile of pants if you wanted to have a proper conversation. This new one is even worse. But the comments are such a pile of crap anyway maybe this way people will just stop trying to have a proper conversation there. This is probably a good thing.
