Hey there - I don't know you all that well, but I've learnt more than I care to know about cancer during the last couple of years, and it's a fucker of a disease. For what it's worth, I'm thinking of you and I hope that you've got lots of support from friends and family.
Screw flying cars and all that shit - the one thing I'm hoping for from the future is that before long someone learns how to kick cancer's arse for good.

Just read your journal, Zack. I'm humbled and sort of awed by your courage and clear-headedness. Certainly there are bad times, but it seems to me like you're living the best life with the best outlook possible. Thank you!
^^^ what he said.
I'm so sorry to hear this Zacc. :(

It's me, Zaccheus, in person this time - I'm back online! \o/
A mate has lent me his laptop and got me an internet dongle which connects me to the web at a hilarious average of 15 kilo-bits per second ! It's amazing how well things work once you've told the browser never to download images.
Thank you, big big thank you, to everyone for your replies, especially you old timers who still know me from when I was on here every day for years. It means a lot to me.

Keep us updated
I certainly will, but there are a whole bunch of forums, online groups, etc, which I'm on. They all naturally want to know how things are going, but I cannot keep everyone up-to-date individually. So I decided to have the single public blog through which I can keep everyone informed (see original post), maybe even right to the end.
Even so, I have a special attachment to this community at TTLG and I will certainly be popping in from time to time to say hi.
I cannot imagine what it is like to go through this, either, but I'm finding out. It is really weird. I look at the Thief 4 info and think wow I might not be around anymore then! The concept of "not-existing" is one which the brain has difficulty with. In that sense my faith is not much help because I believe that even though everyone is resurrected on the last day, so to speak, until then death is just like the state we were in during the years before we were conceived. During the time of, say, the french revolution, I simply did not exist. In years to come, I will simply not exist. Weird concept.

Do you have plenty of family/friends around to help your wife right now?
Very important point which you and theBlackman raise (hi, dusty!) about the partner in this situation. They suffer just as much as the patient, if not more. Yes, she has excellent support from both family and from our friends at church. We are thankfully in good hands, otherwise this would be much much harder.

I'm sorry, I don't know how or what to say to you, if there is certainty of your diagnosis, may the all powerful being spare you from pain.
