Hey RB
Can I assume if I find any hi-res version we can use them in the darkmod..?

The terms of use on their website say that you can use them for anything - even commercial products.
If you redistribute the textures, you need to list their website as the source (it's unclear if this only applies to distributing the textures as a texture pack, or if it also applies to distributing them in a game in a compressed format.)

I haven't installed that program yet.
Has anyone some experience with these making tools and recommend one expect this. (best with arguments). I think I read that blender has such a tool as well but I think it would not be the most (time) efficient.
I don't know why I never thought about searching for a tool to do this work.

When I contacted Spiral Graphics, I told them that the textures would be used in the Thief FMs. Here are the emails:

Ricebug: I'm in the process of exporting your Genetica textures to .png format. Would it be permissible to post these on my website? I want to make them available to gamers who design mods for fun. I read the EULA and it seems that I can, provided credit for and disclaimers by are given Spiral Graphics. However, I wanted to be sure.

Spiral Graphics: Your interpretation sounds correct. If you are exporting textures that we made, you should give us credit where you post them. If you are creating your own original textures using Genetica, then giving us credit would not be necessary.
