Thief is a stealth-action title set in a gritty world that's a cross between the late middle ages and Victorian eras. It sees players creeping around and killing people by using their environment to cloak their approach and dump bodies down sewer hatches.
The most recent game in the series was Thief: Deadly Shadows from 2004, which was really rather good.
I just feel like the whole damn thing is moving in the wrong direction...concept art doesn't help much either:(

Agreed. These ignorant kind of journalists are so out of touch, they really have no place misinforming new potential players. It's also an aspect of the Thief promos and Intros in the whole series to tease Shooter players with something sloppy and unmasterful as gleeful assassin bloodshed (YES, I
know players can play that way!).

Not only that comment but this as well

Both Deus Ex and Thief were created by Ion Storm.
Two huge blunders in a tiny little article... way to go, Rob. Both were called out in the comments, at least.

I admit I didn't give the article another view count just from what was quoted.:tsktsk:

I think some people revel in anticipation. ;)
Or revel in playing What If? games with unresolved mysteries. :D

. . . Why can't I get excited about it. I can't.
Neither can I. But then I can't see anything to get excited about (yet).
Now that you're famous jtr7 - can I tell everyone I know you! :joke:

Haha! As long as you're honest about the mistake made by the journalists, and that Kin deserves the credit for what I only made an illustration for.:p
Wheee!

I would be satisfied with either a new Thief game or a Hitman game. It's just that if they announced a new Hitman, my brain would get a slight dissapointment shock. On the other hand, if they announced a new Tomb Raider game, my blood would turn toxic and my hair would spontaneously combust due to the severe dissapointment of recieving neither of the good alternatives.
