But he's now an independent so you never know what the future might bring.
Being a bit of a noob...but what does an independent in the gaming industry mean? Is he making his own Indy game? Or does that mean he is freelancing?

It basically means someone's no longer employed by a gaming company and has become self-employed in the industry. It could go on to mean freelancing or setting up own company or working with someone else or . . .

I've said it before but I would love an entire game with The Rose Cottage's paranormal investigation theme. Even a point and click adventure game would be awesome.

No, really, I think the setting, atmosphere & storyline are some of the strongest aspects of RC. Very dark, yet very "clean" - like those Hammer horror movies from the sixties and early seventies.
The seventies then introduced more realism & filth (not necessarily sexual) to movies, for example by filming in the streets and less so in studio environments, less dubbing and using "live recording" etc. Movies then became less "artificial" for the lack of a better word.
This isn't necessary bad (give me a 70ies cop thriller like Dirty Harry anytime!), but it collides with "romantic/gothic horror" a bit too much for my taste.
