Define "logical progression" for me please? Do you mean levels that seem to flow seamlessly into one another?
Yeah, pretty much. I'm not really interested in random collections of levels unless they are really really good.

Every time I hear Stock Sound Effect #1128 in any movie, television show, or game, I think, "Hey, that's a Doom door opening!"
Right, it became a cult sound effect. :thumb:

I actually didn't play the full versions of Doom 1 and 2 until many years after they came out - I got the shareware game off a BBS and would play that over and over. Good times.
Rogue Keeper on 11/12/2008 at 12:39
Yes, good times of shareware. 9 maps full episode absolutely for free! Today you download 1GB demo with heavily limited gameplay features which you mess with for one hour until it spills at you that your trial period is over or something. That's a real progress!

Oh yeah, (
http://action.mancubus.net/actiondoom/) Action Doom will kick your arse too.
Brings Contra-style gameplay to Doom.
There's also now an Action Doom "Prequel" called (
http://action.mancubus.net/) Urban Brawl.
Not tried that yet, but it looks nice and given the pedigree is probably worth a shot.

Beat me to it! The much more convoluded precursor to D2's "IDCLIP" command. Is it sad that we still actually recall this from memory?
Anyway... Happy b-day DooM! You blew my mind when I first saw you!
