Technically neither was #18, but hey. Having said that, the dude in #4 is hilarious. Something about the way he walks slowly and deliberately toward the obviously about to explode barrel is just perfect.

I'm surprised they didn't list that insanely annoying AI bug in STALKER that makes all nearby enemies know exactly where you are when you load a saved game.

I hate that bug. The ironic thing is that Doom had the opposite issue- monsters would go dormant if you reloaded a savegame, until they either saw you again or you fired a shot. This means that any monsters currently fighting each other would forget that they were fighting.

No it shouldn't, that's not an AI bug.
The AI skill level simply being reset by said bug is close enough to qualify IMO, regardless of the root cause.

Close only counts in horse shoes and atom bombs.

What about dancing and hand grenades?

Thief DS has a good one in AIs not tracking the player in the vertical axis until they are fully aware of him. So there's places where you can stand in the open on a box or pilon and the guards will walk right past noticing your feet each time (turning their head and going "Hmm" to boot), but never look up to see whose feet they are.

#14 is misdiagnosed. player was sneaking and firing an arrow alerted the npc. and in oblivion they tend to blame trespassers to be thieves...

There's one in stalker:clear sky, where you go through a tunnel, to behind a tree, and the AI can see you through the tree and machine gun you to death through the tree. And its not until you use some command line commands that you find out the area is heavily laced with trigger brushes, so the AI in fact cant see you, and its a bunch of trigger brushes controling the weird event.
Its in the map which would have been the start map, for the original game, down at the south end near the army base, theres a tunnel to another map, its instant death if you come from the other map. Although if you avoid the trigger brushes you can get through the area without being shot.

There's another AI bug in world of warcraft, currently in game, where if you use a pet to attack a mob, then the mob will run back to its original spawn point before engaging your pet, and if the spawn point is quite a way away, so much so, that if you don't run after your pet you can lose your pet, eg it despawns, once your pet despawns, the mob you original attacked with either evade, or teleport itself to where you are and gain all its hitpoints back, lose all your dots on it, and attack you, causing you to have to reapply dots, run away, or die. (there is currently no way to report this bug, as the game masters usual reply is that its working as intended, when clearly it isn't.) I mean what monster would run back to its place of birth before attack something attacking it.
