While searching in an old shoe box in my room found my 20 year old thief gold cd. Quickly installed using the 1.27 fix and set it up with FMsel (just like my T2 installation). Now ready to play those thief 1/gold FM's I skipped all this time. Currently I am playing from 20th aniversary contest missions (noticed some really amazing work there). Anyone can point me to any other contests or missions worth playing apart from the last contest?

My suggestions are:

Ascend the Dim Valley, Between these Dark Walls, Endless Rain, Project Hammer Secret Connections, Calendra's Cistern, The Chalice of Souls, Gems of Provenance, Alcazar.

If you enjoyed Down in the Bonehoard (and like puzzles), Id also recommend the Sepulchre of the Sinestral.

Also, if you're patient, you can often find Thief 2 available on Steam or GOG for a couple bucks. There are lots of great FMs for Thief Gold, but even more for Thief 2.

Played ''Returning a Favor'' by Morrgan the other day and really liked it, it's a murder mistery FM for Thief Gold.

Be careful with Acend the Dim Valley as it could cause issues with your install. Check the thread for more information.

I will add Curse of the Ancients and Events at Highrock.

Regarding the 'issue' (https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150719) Ascend The Dim Valley might cause: you should add 'character_detail 1' to you cam.cfg file, otherwise a few AI textures might look weird in some other missions, depending on how your game is patched. It's not going to brick your install or anything serious.

On topic, (https://thiefmissions.com/m/redmound) Saints of Redmound and the aforementioned (https://thiefmissions.com/m/favor) Returning A Favour hold up incredibly well, even by modern standards. Morrgan's texturing and brushwork was in a league of its own for Thief 1.
