Can someone give me a hint for the 2. secret?
Already have
the gasmine
and think the last secret has anything to do with
a hidden bottle
I read about in a book. Thought is was maybe hidden
somewhere near the spiders because of the hint ("Luckily he is not afraid of spiders" or something)
but can´t find it there...
Thanks :)
Ehm, help?
Schwaa2 on 19/11/2006 at 23:46
Oh sorry, I read it then forgot to post
There are only 2 windows in the place that can be seen out of.
I'll give another hint if you want, but that should do it.

Yeah, that second one was tough. I almost missed it even when I knew where to look.
Great mission. I'm only 50 loot short, so now that everyone is knocked out I'll see if I can find it.

Good work Schwaa--Dromed rides again! The rest of my post needs to be in spoilerese.
Instead of being a chore, I found that the new chests were quite intuitive--the extra frobbing was easily offset by my curiosity of a chest's contents. The self-closing lids were a nice way to wrap things up; the quick and tidy motion fits Garrett's character nicely.
As for the functional sinks and toilets, I remain undecided. They are technically impressive (who didn't flush them over and over when they ran across them?), but modern plumbing fixtures in FMs always seem to be a glaring stylistic error. Technology in Thief is usually menacing in nature and often used to further criminal intent. Clean porcelain basins are entirely too humane.
The telescope, on the other hand, worked perfectly. Not only does the hulking machine resemble a cannon, but the thing is the centrepiece in a gemstone scam. The service crawlspace was damn claustrophobic and had me spooked--I was certain that someone was going to appear at the control panel and casually grind me into mincemeat. A+.
i see that
window at the end of the beam in the tiled-floor room and the smoke from the gas arrow, but how do i get up there?
================
bobber, did you
find Leo down in the cave and steal his key? that'll lead you to the end, I knidof left using the key to the player, figuring if they got it they would want to use it.I couldnt get it to work either untill I went into garrett loader and installed another mission. Download the above files and unzip em into my Thief 2 game then go back to garrett loader and install Lookin Glass and things worked fine.
A quick way to find out if its working is There was a window you can sneek in on the side
with the gate you can pick
and open a chest revealing 3 stacks of silver coins....if you can grab them, your gonna be OK.
Nice mission by the way. Short but innovative.

Printer's Devil, thanks. I actually have caught a lot of 'flack' over the years for releasing my original bathroom set (not really pointed at me directly, but alot of comments in threads about Fm's that used 'em). Which was much more modern styling for sure. That's why i redid it and came up with these objs, they are certainly more 'victorian' styling, which does fit quite well in the thief 'steampunk' genre, although I would suspect only nicer places would have porcelin. I have been meaning to do another version of a cheaper nastier looking material, maybe wood and metal. But I had these textures already so it was easy to just slap em on.
I don't agree though that they don't fit in the steampunk type of universe, and this comes up alot. I've had someone tell me my torches were unrealistic because they had rivets, and surely rivets were too high tech for thief, but I think if they can manage machines, robots, ect... toilets and rivets can't be that hard to figure out eh?
follow that beam thru the other rooms, look up above a machine. mantle on pipes, mantle on machine, crawl along beams
My updated version will have a rope arrow and wood ceilings, but mainly so you can hang down to grab the loot nearby
Yeah, its hard to articulate without sounding silly or discouraging, especially considering the fairly advanced engineering and technology at work in the
Thief universe. Indoor plumbing is also more of a conceptual leap and not a scientific achievement, anyway. It's really a question of expectation, when I stop to think about it. Sinks and toilets are so deeply associated with everyday life that seeing similar virtual equivalents disturbs the game's atmosphere (but only a little bit). I look forward to more of your handiwork.
