Although I am relatively new to the series, it is excellent and remains so even in 2008! It just surpasses so many new and old games in terms of story, intensity, content and atmosphere. It is amazing that it has stood the test of time...

Many brilliant years of trial and error, which resulted in several classic games, went into that first Thief title. Thief: The Dark Project was the brief moment when Looking Glass Studios eclipsed the industry. They brought their finest craft and was the best thing on the shelf at that time. You are right in thinking that there is more than meets the eye. TDP is the Darkside of the Moon of the game industry.

How succinctly phrased. :)

I still love Thief as much as I did the day I first played a demo. Corny I know, lol.

Agreed. Too bad TDP wasn't on the best sellers list for 15 straight years like DSoM.

It would be interesting to know exactly how many copies of TDP were sold since 1998. Darkside was in the Top 200 charts for all that time, and I'm sure TDP must have had somewhat similar results, because I *still* see the damn game in stores. Often times for $2.99. :p Maybe it's because people like me (fanatics) continue to snatch them up.

I agree with you Goldmoon Dawn. I must have bought the game 4 or 5 times. I assume it keeps getting stolen, because whenever I'm in for some nostalgia I can never find it.

Maybe Garrett pays you a visit every now and then. :sly:
