My problem with King of Limbs is the fact that they didn't want to make a full LP yet they ended up "almost" making it. Now it's just a a too short LP instead of an EP or something different. When you have eight songs on an LP, you better not have a single filler, but aside from the truly great songs (Bloom, Codex, Lotus Flower) only Separator feels ok. I didn't mind having two not-so-good songs on In Rainbows, because there was still eight awesome ones.

Well, despite myself, I really got into that Gardens and Villa.
Not so much the M83 but I'm giving it another chance.
I've been using the new Spotify Apps, specifically the Moodagent. It's been working ok so far.

So is this the actual 2011 music thread, or is it just for indie stuff? 'Cause I've got a lot of good music I didn't have to download from the band's myspace page. /dick

No we should totally have a proper 2011 Music thread because if this is it I'm gonna be pissed!

Someone go ahead and do the top ten thread, please. I'm too lazy to do it because it's been a banner year for mediocrity.

Eh, it's still kinda early.
I'll do one eventually if noone else does.

I submit that we wait and let Stitch do it. I jumped the gun last year in a moment of pill-induced lunacy and fucked the whole thing up. I still feel bad about it. :(

Ha ha.
I know I'm going to get grief for this but I was chatting about days of metal and grunge today at work and one of the guys told me to give Bring Me The Horizon a look.
So I did.
And I found the remixes and, well, yes please.

This led me to looking up a bunch of Skrillex stuff and ha ha, yeah ok I can roll with that.

Guys I am going to VEGAS tomorrow. Be back next week. Don't start the proper 2011 Music thread without me!
On topic: I am listening to Hank 3's latest album "Ghost to a Ghost/Guttertown". It's jolly good country/rock n roll stuff for the most part although on a few tracks it sounds depressingly Kid Rock-y. (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veXrH-PEzXk) "Day by day" is perhaps the catchiest song on the album. Also, Tom Waits shows up on one track!
