2011 TTLG Summer holiday Steam gift exchange game (TTLGSHSGEG)

Hi TTLG. So you see, if you're autistic enough to follow GenGaming yet not be aware of this, here's an incredible and totally unexpected factoid: there are holiday sales on Steam.

I wonder if some of you would be interested in a little gift exchange game. The idea is:

* To be willing to use Steam (by not somehow hating its guts for some wonderfully justified reason);
* To register in this thread by writing down your Steam ID (while uttering the famous words "YES I DO" or something similar) AND sending me a PM with your email address;
* To be willing to spend around $5 or 5€ (yeah I know, Steam exchange rates suck).

Let's put The Deadline for registering on the 2nd of July. Well on that day, I'll use some Excel magic and send to each of the participants a PM with the email of another random (I swear) fellow member of TTLG who decided to pitch in, and to whom you shall gift one or multiple games. I'm setting the buy in at $5 but anyone is free to give more of course.

Once you receive your gift, you shall play it for at least a reasonable amount of time and report back in this thread giving your opinions and the name of your benefactor (or malevolent torturer).

If enough people pitch in it should be pretty interesting. I'd advise every participant to make their Steam profiles public so that people can see what games they already own and what games (if any) are on their wishlists. Of course, everyone is free to ignore that and gift something totally unexpected which that might fit the image you have of that person.

Steam IDs, when you have defined them, are what you find at the end of the steamcommunity.com/id/ URL when you go to your profile. If you don't have a Steam ID, you'll be linked through your profile number.

Think about it: How are you going to spend your time and money now that you missed your chance to get a Google+ invite??

BTW, the email addresses are so that you can gift something without having necessarily to add that person as a Steam friend. If you don't want to give out your email address anyway, you can still do it: Gift the game you want to your own email address, then paste the link from the email in a PM to the recipient.
