Don't know if this is already common knowledge (search function is down, natch) but there are at least 3 DX fan missions available to download at (
http://www.planetdeusex.com/features/contests/map/winners.shtml,) http://www.planetdeusex.com/features/contests/map/winners.shtml, the winning entries of a DX-GOTY contest, judged by the Ion Storm team themselves. Anybody played them? Are they any good?
They are:
* Double Cross - Chapter 1 by Tristan "Jherax" Blease
* Hints of Corruption by Alex "BigAL" Reid
* Break In by Ray Wenderlich
Sorry if this is old news but I haven't heard of any mention of fan missions (only mods) at TTLG or PlanetDeusEx for the entire time I've had the game.

Pc Gamer Uk said (in the Deus Ex 2 issue) that they were going to try to put them on "next" months cover disk.. and maybe even run a Thief missions DVD soon.

What places did those missions get in the contest?

In the order I listed, the missions came 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The judges (ISA guys) said this of the first prize winner - "This was easily the most polished, professional mission we received - one we could have shipped with the original game". High praise was similarly recieved by the others. I have high hopes for these, but you need the latest patch to play them and I don't actually have that at the moment (curse my download laziness). Seems the fan mission authors have kept their attention squarely on Thief. Don't know how many entrants their were to the contest, but these are the only ones you can download. If you get to play them before I do, let us know if they are any good.
