Having got excited by the spiffy new update I played around a bit with a standalone 3D driver I'd downloaded and tried years ago but failed miserably to get to work with T2 (as I've mentioned (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140085&page=5&p=2143863&viewfull=1#post2143863) here).
Thought I'd share a screenshot from Child of Karras's huge TDS City Project to show what a potential difference it makes (needs red/cyan glasses to work). I've not had much of a chance to optimize the settings so these are the driver settings working pretty much straight out of the box. Hopefully I'll have more chance over the weekend to play with it a bit more.
It's not everyones cup of tea but I like it. :)

I previously got Thief working in 3d by following this:

There were some graphics glitches though that made it less than perfect. With this newly released patch, it is flawless using the above method. To top it off, System shock 2 now works in 3d too! Brings a whole new level of immersion to the game.

I tried it with Nvidia 3D vision last night but got no stereo separation. I'll look more deeply into it over the weekend.

Eh, I'm glad that it can work with the IZ3D driver, but I've had issues with it in the past and will pass for now if that's what it takes.
I am going to experiment a bit with the new 1.19 and see if I can get it working without it.

Ah, didn't know that, jjjayb, I've not been around the forums much lately. Good work, though!
I don't have hardware 3D but just using the IZ3D works well on my ATI radeon. The only thing I've found - and this is gameplay - is that its quite hard to judge arrow aiming (in the horizontal plane).

Glad to hear that you are playing Thief 2 in 3D with iZ3D and a ATI card, Casalor.
Since I have a nvidia graphics card, I need other players to tell me if there are any problems in 3D with ATI/AMD cards.
3D installation instructions for Thief 2 are now updated.
3D is very easy to setup with patch v1.19
DDFix is not needed.

Stereoscopy was one of the first things I tried with the new version. Ironically also with the TDS project. I missed that since 2005. ^^ Using IZ3D as well.

also, one should note that during the last three missions of T1, Garrett has only one eye, so no 3D should be available to the player.
