Just tried SS2 using Tridef3D (cheaper than 3D vision, works just as well, i just created a profile for SShock2.exe and it worked directly).
Looks really stunning, incredible depth, gives a whole new level of immersion to play on a 50" in 3D :) Too bad it doesnt work with my TrackIR5 too, that would have been a really nice feature.

Thanks for telling us, Vurt.
It seems that both Tridef 3D and iZ3D can render Thief and SS2 in 3D.
But 3D Vision needs a little help to render in 3D.
50" screen in 3D .... Wooh!!
If your 50" TV comes with 3D glasses, then there is no need to purchase 3D glasses from Nvidia.
I think Thief and SS2 look 10x better in 3D than in 2D.
dark room + 3D glasses + quality audio = very good immersion

Been playing Thief2 for a couple of hours in 3D now, it works equally well with TriDef3D. There's some slight ghosting from the most intense lights, but the depth / 3D is just immense, and ofcourse in a pitch black room with headphones = win.
I actually appreciate T2 more now than when i played it the last time, which was around release 12(!) years ago. Not just because of 3D, but i think i'm a more patient player nowadays and the gameplay just feels so.. unique.
Just got to try Amnesia: The Dark Descent too, should be pretty creepy.
Edit: a bit OT but is there something special you need to do to get the best sound experience from the game? I have Logitech G35 phones ( 7.1 surround) or i can use the surround speakers. Anything i need to tweak or download to get it even better or is that fixed in v1.19?

Ugh. I splurged for 3D Vision just for the first two games recently, and they won't fire up in stereoscopic, even with iZ3D installed as specified in the instructions. And 3DV has worked fine elsewhere so that is working generally. Renaming the EXE has shed no light on the situation and has only resulted in "1 FPS due to profile confusion" type things.
Any suggestions?

So, guys, i didn't actually get how to run old games (incl. ss2 and other dx6 games) in stereoscopic 3d with nvidia 3d vision. I have GF465 and Quadro600 with latest drivers. I've tried various cards and drivers for along 2 years.
The only way to run these games in 3d is to use my old machine - with gf5700, forceware 162 or less, winxp 32, crt display and old shutter glasses.
Renaming shock2.exe to thief3.exe doesnt help - the game starts running in 1 fps with no 3d.

Hmm, but I still cannot see 3d in shock2 2.4.
I see the overlayed crosshair in 3d, but the game itself doesn't change.
iz3d is not an option (although it ran fine in anaglyph mode) because my display is not supported - asus vg278h.
