I have some 3ds files I need to convert to bins. I tried running the 3DS to bin.exe program, but got this error message: "Component 'Comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
Has anyone ever seen this before, or knows what it means? Will I be able to use this program? Or is there another way to convert 3DS to a bin file?

I did at one point download the file the error message says I am missing. I put it into the System 32 folder. It didn't help. Not sure where to go from here. I'm getting this message on all 3 of my pcs, even the one that still has an old version of XP for an OS. Doesn't seem like G'len got the problem fixed in that thread, either.

Did you install it correctly? There's a readme file for instructions.

I had the error once, and this is how I registered it: In Start>Run type: regsvr32 %Systemroot%\System32\comdlg32.ocx You will be told if it was properly registered. Make sure that the file is in system32 directory.

Weird. It didn't come with an installer or instructions. I just downloaded the file and placed it where I guessed might be right. I'll search for it again and try again. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the tips.

Got the error now as well i have a regsvr32 comdlg32.dll. I tried loading it but got an error message: Module was loaded but DllRegisterServer-Entrypoint not found.
Check if C:Win:Sys32:bla31.dll is a valid .dll or .ocx.
Win8.1 here any ideas?

You will have to download a version of comdlg32.ocx for windows 8 Then register it.
(

If you have registered it successfully then it will tell you: DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\System32\comdlg32.ocx succeeded.
