4 legged animals? Yes. - by seventyfour

Playing around with the .MI -> .BVH conversion from Telliamed's (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136431) Blender Toolkit, which essentially makes it possible to edit and create motions for thief with external applications, I started experimenting to see if it was possible to use for creating completely new motions.
The result? I managed to put together a fully working dog rig - which earlier has seemed to be considered nearly a impossibility. Note that the animation is still pretty raw, and the mesh is nothing but a temporary test model.

(The limping look is because the first and last frames of the animation didn't loop seamlessly when I uploaded, but that's fixed now)
The dog also uses the standard joint naming and map files of a human and thus works good in Dromed, but isn't limited to the ordinary T-pose due to the new animations ((

From here and on it's just about creating new animations, which is quite simple now when one can use an animation software of choice - as long as it supports reading and writing .BVH files.

Looks like this year Blender 3D and Dromed can become real friends! ;)
Congrats to both of you (74 and Telliamed)!:thumb:

The only thing which is still left to do is to implement a "smell-system" using S&R and the watchdog is ready :sly:

Nah, I think you'd use AIWatchObj links for that.

Think of the crazy creatures we could make that use galloping motions. :ebil:
