No problem playing it either. It was a really cool mission, which reminded me a lot of Ultima Underworld 2.

Of course I play with 1.21
I played return to tarnhill a few days ago which requires 1.21 as well, so I made sure I had the latest version.

Nickie & Eric, do you use the NewDark version (1.21)? Because remember all missions were made using this version of Thief 2.
I played with it on Windows 7 and encountered no problem
Yes I am using 1.21. It freezes in the same place each time I try, but hopefully I can get my laptop back tomorrow which has Win 7 and has got more oomph. I did have a freezing problem with another mission which turned out to be down to my pathetic pc. With a bit of messing about, I got it playing and once loaded, it was fine.
I'm going to keep trying with this one because I'm really intrigued by it and want to see what happens. Beautiful colours! :)

For the record, I have no trouble playing it either. I say this only to provide information, not to smirk at those who are experiencing difficulties (that's to forestall nickie's inevitable barb). :cheeky:
I'm probably over half-way through and I'm loving this mission. Very well done!!

Excellent mission, I really enjoyed the colour ambient that was here, and the environment and meshes are pleasant too. Just found the books weird, when some corners to turn the pages are displayed weirdly. Apart from that, good job, and I'm even astonished the author managed to make so numerous things in such delay!

I've run into the problem with crashes as well I'm afraid. I don't think I'll be able to finish it which is a shame as I was enjoying it.

I didn't have any problems with it. I never found the sword though. The fog in the cave made things very laggy but once I got past that it was smooth. :)

The sword is near the common room in the north the bedroom on the left with hammerite stuff in it the sword is on a table.
It's sad that some couldn't play it, it was pretty interesting!
I have lagged nomore. In the case that it would help some players to play this mission (that will be too bad to miss a mission especially a mission that you can complete).
I think that is a question of setting from the cam_ext. I have changed nothing from the default settings excepted the new_mantling.
I played with win7 with a 1280x800x32 resolution. No mods installed and I played with DarkLoader.
I hope that will help you! ;)
I have a question: Is it a method to go through the gate in the west of the common room?

This crashes in the same spot as others, at the entrance of the strange world building. I have the new dark installed, but this is an XP system with 2 GB of RAM and only an AMD 64 single core 3500 chip. The game nearly freezes, then slows to 15+ or - frames a minute once you get to the foggy area after chasing the dude through the sewer.
My advice for those that play this? Use at least Win7 and have at least a dual core box with lots of RAM. A P7 3rd generation with 8 GB might be needed :ebil: My slower AMD 3500 is the fastest Windows machine I have (switched to Mac last year). It plays the latest FMs w/o trouble, so this one must be pretty bloated. That is a trouble with fast computers. They do not force code to be more efficient. Just throw horsepower at it if it runs slow. :joke:
Good luck to the author. You are going to have a number of players that cannot get past the first 5 minutes :p
