Very original mission. I liked this a lot. It wasn't as visually impressive as the contest winner but it's probably a better overall mission in terms of gameplay and me lacking any gameplay issues with it. The only actual issue I had was the same as many others which was that the fog area chasing the guy through the sewers just killed my framerate, but this computer is pretty old (old enough that I can't find replacement parts for it, sure sign I should replace it) so I think that's to be expected. I'll try this on a more recent machine and see how that part runs.
Edit: Framerate still drops to single digit there with a 4ghz 16gb ram machine with a decent GPU.

I too am having issues in that same building. If i look in the game crashes. Only thing that worked was to walk in backwards. Got into a few rooms (the ones with chests). Any AI on the screen or the big bright rooms and game crashes. I can only walk backwards so much. This is an XP pro system with sp3. Single core p4 cpu 2800ghz, 256meg agp 4x vid card, 1 gig pc2700 ddr mem. This is my backup sys cause thief wont play on my main sys. Main is vista ultimate 64bit, quad core cpu 2.67 ghz, 1gig vid card (ati radeon 5750), 4gig pc6400 ddr2 mem. This is an HP sys and thief always seems to crash when i try to play it on this sys. Don't know why it wont run. :(

Hi dudes, we found the problem: I used too many particles in that mission.
I didn't know that computers will dislike it. So, If I have a lot of time, a day, I will fix it to make it able to work on all machines even the old one.
For the moment, only a win7 with a good graphic/video cards can hold the game...
But what did you expect? :/ I did it in less than 48h without any betatest so, because it worked to me perfectly, I wasn't aware about the problem when I submitted the mission.
All that I suggest you is to get dromed, install it, open my mission, press F5, select SFX and click Edit button then click Add: Renderer>Render Type>"No Renderer".
Then save the gamsyst only.
You will have 0 particles in-game, then no crash.
Alas it will break the global ambiant, but the mission will work!

Well i cant open up that mission in Dromed. It just sits there forever. I have to kill it through task manager. Any other mission will open up through Dromed though. Probably need someone who gets this to work to send me the moderated file then tell me where to put it. :(

I cannot open the mission in DromEd either. DromEd just crashes every time I try.
I wasn't having any trouble playing, until I got to the giant face who's supposed to transport me back to the wedding. ...He didn't transport me, and now I'm stuck in that gray room forever... and any youtube videos of the ending are long gone.
FireMage - will you please reconsider fixing that one bug? Or, let us know if you used a specific script we can download? Something? Anything? Please? This was one of the best missions I've played! It's worth fixing! Thanks ;)

Yo man! ^^
That's funny to learn that my mission self-protect itself! xD
What version of dromed did you use?
About the fixing, I have worked a bit on it ;) And the end is fixed!
I have make a break because there is something long to do: What we asked me to do: To remake the spectrum room bigger! xD
And two version of the mission, one with all particles divided per two, and the other one with no particles. Because I know that these things are the ones that make the mission crashing on some computers!
So, If you like it so much, I'll change some of my plans and finish the fixes! xD

"This mission will self-destruct if you attempt to tamper with it." :laff::laff::laff:
I am using the original version of DromEd that shipped with Thief 2, I think. When I open it, the title bar says "DromEd Final 1.03"
I suppose there have been updates, but I'm just not ready to open that can of worms.
But I'm very glad to hear that you might soon release a fixed version of "Half-Assed Wedding" with all the original particles and effects, because that is exactly what I need!
And really, Windows 8 is out and Windows 9 is probably in the works, and Microsoft doesn't even support XP anymore. So the older systems that can't handle all the particles are probably dying out daily. :sly:
I will be anxiously awaiting a download link. XOXOXO

Actually to edit it, you must use at least newdark's Dromed 1.21... ^^
But now, I have worked on the fix ;)
So:
-French Translation for my fellows: 75% (Special thanks to Athalle, her son and a friend of her son)
-Bug fixed: 80% (The last remaining bug is the magic projectile that self-destruct when launched. I don't find yet why it do that)
-End fixed
-Rainbow zones enlargement: 10% (It may be fast, I just wanted to fix all bugs first)
-Misplaced Objects or with a bad skin etc: 100%
-Semi-particles version and zero particles version are not made yet but It may be fast to do ^^
Optional: (Because I fear that will kill the mission by doing this)
-Architecture inscreasing: 0%
-HD texture placement: 0%
-----
If you have some suggestions or things to add, please tell me :)
margotbean on 3/9/2014 at 06:24
Um... just a download link to the mission with the ending bug fixed, please! Really, you could email it to me if you don't want it out there on all the download sites yet. Really, that's all I want! :D
Edit: I don't think you should expand the rainbow areas at all! They are difficult, and having them stay small makes them easier to escape once you've grabbed what you need!
FireMage on 3/9/2014 at 18:03
Okay! ^^ If you are sure of that, then, It just need the last fix for the french stuff and it is done ^^
Extended and more stylised version will be for a next time ^^
Because I assume you play with the english version, you surely don't need it ;)
