If you've found the path leading to the city gate with the two guards, it is just to the right; an opening in the cliff face. Enter that and go to the top where you can look out over the guards.

Great mission, but I wasn't able to do the mantling jump at the end and I have the latest newdark patch with the improved mantling enabled.
Great fun nonetheless and only 500 loot short...no secrets found and has anyone sorted out the fairy ring thing or is it all about the mushrooms..;)

What "mantling jump"? I found no such jump necessary at the end. And I thought the floating light in the fairy ring was a teleporter. Or am I confusing that with somewhere else?

Or am I confusing that with somewhere else?The jump at the end...it's the wee cave you go in and then have to mantle up two ledges..the first is fine, the second it seems you have to "hop" slightly as the gap is too wide and there is a small part of the roof just over your head which makes you seem to need a small run at it.
Some including me are finding it difficult others are not...it's no big deal.
Someone mentioned "had anyone found the ring" that's the ;) and the mushroom quip...generally referred to as faery rings here in the West of England :D...yes it's a teleport.

I completed the red gem puzzle (I don't recommend it) and managed to get past the rockfall onto the path away from town... :tsktsk: I'm making bad decisions all around, today
