Borderlands is better on PC. Buy Batman if you haven't already. I knew there was a reason I had a 360 and that game is it. Well that and Dead Rising.

Nah, Batman on PC shits all of the console versions.
It's a terrifically optimised port which takes full advantage of keyboard, and naturally it looks way better. I find the mouse+kb controls to be superior as well, but you could always plug in a 360 controller and have it work 100% natively (XP/Vista driver needed though), rumble and all.

Dead Rising is my favorite game for that system -- so far. Maybe grabbing that (it's cheap) and Mass Effect (also can be found for cheap) is the way to go.

mass effect: good story, lousy gameplay controls and inventory. get it for console, pc port is an atrocity.

who is we ?
op is the_grip, I gave him my impressions from MassEffect that still crashes every 4 hours with a general memory protection fault after installling it on 3 different systems over time. that's my experience with it and I won't withhold it because I mentioned MassEffect in some other thread in 2009. Doesn't matter if PC version is better if it aint working.

Well I ended up picking up a copy of Mass Effect and Frontlines: Fuel of War (the latter is one of my favorite battlefield-type games, and there is still a large online community - with a price tag at $9.99 used, it is hard to pass up).
I played through some of Mass Effect, and I can see its appeal, but I couldn't really get into it... the BioWare model for RPGs wears on me. I loved it in the days of Baldur's Gate, but these days I just can't get into it. Thus, I returned Mass Effect to pick up Assassin's Creed II at the insistence of the clerk that it is better than the first one by far. I liked the first one for about half an hour and then just played through it to get it done. Beautiful graphics and the like, but repetitive to me. So far AC II seems to be more of the same of the first one - is this an incorrect evaluation?
(I'd like to get back to Mass Effect at some point, but for some reason I didn't have the patience for it right now)
Thus, I'm thinking of taking AC II back and swapping it out for Dragon Age: Origins. Any thoughts on that move?

Everyone has their tastes. It took me five or six hours of playtime to get into Mass Effect. I ended up loving it. Assassin's Creed and Frontline look pretty cool.

Yeah I enjoyed Mass Effect up to the point to where I was off the initial planet and back to the space port. At that point, the amount of exploration and dialog just seemed to be labor and not enjoyment, so I reluctantly threw in the towel. I'm sure I'll go back to it as I don't have a complaint with the game... I just don't have the patience for it right now.
