So how is the reason coming along? Are we nearly there yet?

'Fraid not. It's been hijacked by doppelgangers from a mirror universe.

To discuss someone others opinion with him because
- one thinks its maybe lets say "less appropriate"
- "not rethinkable"
- just to talk (the things forums are made for)
has got nothing to do with beeing juvenile - calling others names ("fuckwad") on the other hand isn't exactly, what we call "grown up" you know. This whole stuff of setting yourself above things with such comments and requests (dont talk about that, dont do that...) is a highly questionable action for itsself.
You talk about accepting opinions? Well then start accepting the freedom of speech, because its our right to discuss the things we want here, in a way we want - as long its not plain insultment ("fuckwad") without arguments I think its OK, because it doesn't hurt the forum's rules. If you want a TTLG forum without passionate discussion go write it into the forum rules. Controversial standpoints and argumenting don't make someone a mental teenager.
That people get a little upset about things is perfectly natural for every aspect of life, that just shows that people care for something.
You seem to think my quoting "Johnathan Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory" was aimed at insulting someone in particular, when really I was pointing out how giving someone an audience like the internet and some form of anonymity tends to bring out the worst in a lot of people.
The theorem originated in this Penny Arcade strip, dated March 19th, 2004:

Actually, I would be very curious to know how Microsoft feels about Thief and the ol' XBox contract with Eidos. Anyone know if Seamus Blackley still works on behalf of XBox?
EDIT: Nope. (

Well yeah I recepted it as an insult to people who get a little upset sometimes. That you posted this "theory" after Dias post which you quoted earlier and you own description of "the people starting foaming about so having another opinion..." led to this assumption of mine - if you say the theory is wrong and you didn't want to call anyone a fucktwad by bringing it into the discussion - OK, no problem with that.
My post also related to the former insults - which where definitely "calling so names" and that was not polite or appropriate behaviour.

No problem, I have got a heart for people like you, I do a lot of volunteer coaching:
Lets start with the more difficult wordies, shall we?
to discuss - that's a form of talking to each other about a special topic
appropriate -means something like fitting. (If you need the def for fitting, plz consult your mom for an "dictionary" -thats a special kind of book with lots of words described in it)
juvenile - means young
insultment - saying something bad about someone else
mental ~ regards whats happening in your head
aspect ~ is a property of something
---
Now come on buddy, lets fuse the words together and get the essential message out of the "many-word" we call correctly: text
First paragraph basically says:
A person who argues with another person should not be called juvenile
Second paragraph basically says:
Let people talk about the topics they want and in the way they like - as long they dont violate forum rules.
Last sentence:
Getting angry about something doesn't mean you are childish.
---
hoped I was able to help ya pal, if not, don't hestitate to consult one of the many coaching centres available in your city/district. proper education is not a matter of age!
AND: Asking for help is perfectly OK mate, you get your first :thumb: from me for that.
Keep reaching for the rainbow.
