I'd like to add that I am a minority, a total extremist, BUT...I glean from those around me, add it to my knowledge, feed it back, receive it back, improve upon it, and gather knowledge and experience more from others than myself. How do I know it's improved and not just a misperception? Continued feedback from those I admire and look up to. People that my friends admire and look up to. My opinions have been honed by this feedback loop I've been maintaining for the few years I've been here at these fantastic forums. Even the people I can't stand teach me something when they are articulate, educated, and speak the truth as they perceive it.
GOD, I LOVE THIS PLACE! I shall enjoy continuing to learn from all of you, whether it seems like it or not. It's all about Thief and ALL OF Y'ALL!
What a ride!

People getting BORED with Thief and wanting a new game to replace the old ones at...yes...the MAJORITY's expense?
...
I'm not going to stop caring about this series and all I've gained from having discovered it. I'll not support a statement that is destructively (harsh word for a gray scale) self-serving rather than fan-community serving.
And this, I think, is what it probably all comes down to.
What exactly are you "protecting"? I don't own the thief IP. I won't be the one with the hand on the tiller choosing how to make Thief 4. Eidos aren't going to see my posts lauding certain aspects of Thief 3 and go "wow, this one fan thinks climbing gloves are potentially great, so lets ignore everyone else and just listen to him!".
I'm not asking you to stop caring. What I hate is this belief that it is your duty to "protect the series" by controlling public discourse on the matter. Firstly, because you aren't "protecting the series" at all. And secondly, while you have a perfect right to disagree with me (heatedly, too) and others, you do
not have the right to tell people what they are allowed to say about thief on this forum.
This is why I have been so angry with you over the last few days.
Also ... you have me on your ignore list? I doubt we argue more then once every couple of months!

Stop.
Please?

*sigh*
I appreciate that I've barged in here like an angry bull in a china shop.
I'm at a bit of a loss for words right now. On the one hand, I don't want to keep at this long after I've outstayed whatever tenuous welcome I've got in this thread. On the other hand, when is it going to be more apppropriate for me to tell jtr7 what I think about the way he talks about non-conformists?
The way TTLG deals with diverse opinions is an issue I care a lot about. No one wants to be a part of the next NMA, I think.

Me thinks thou dost project too much...
Saying you have issues with an opinion is a hell of a lot different than saying you have issues with a person for having an opinion. He was not faulting anyone for having a different outlook, just saying he does not like said outlook himself.
Jumping to conclusions like that is why modern American politics suck.

I personally have little qualms against someone who likes T3
Well, that's too bad, I liked T3 too... :)

I don't quite understand what this thread ought to do - if someone doesn't like the new Thief logo he shoudn't mention it here, to not hinder the creative freedom of EM?!?
To be honest, I don't want them messing around with the Thief legacy, there is no big time creative freedom here. The should produce T4, not an all new game abusing the Thief-Brand. If you want freedom go produce your own new game, not take a series and redux it for the sake of beeing able to do it.
Don't try to confine the freedom of speech, just to please potential EM visitors, thats the wrong "we already love what you will do" signal sent to EMs direction.
---
So plz everyone! Feel free to tell us your opinion on every -regardless how unimportant- design and marketing decision that EM takes.
