MHe was not faulting anyone for having a different outlook, just saying he does not like said outlook himself.
Argh, I don't know whether I should keep at this or not ... ! :erg:
Probably wiser to quit, especially as jtr appears to have promptly ignored me again. But I do want to say one thing:
The fact is that, despite his rhetoric in this thread, jtr7 does regularly opine that people with dissenting opinions do not belong here (or words to that effect). The rhetoric and the reality are quite different.

no qualms with you, or not?:laff:

Definitely wiser to quit. I find
your attitude disgusting right now, so just drop it OK? I think Taffer36 said it best:

Having said this, if Garrett grows a pair of tits and starts wearing hot pants I'm taking my bow and arrows and booking the first flight to Montreal. Just saying.
Yummy fantasy you have going there :eww::eww:

*SLAM!* OH GOD! *SLAM!* WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!?! *SLAM!* ARE WE THE FUCKING FALLOUT COMMUNITY!!? *SLAM!*
why can't we all just grow up and stop the nitpicking? please. IM BEGGING YOU!
*has stroke*
*Apologizes for double post* (Maybe I should read the length of a thread before I respond :laff:)
I completely agree here... I was an avid fan of both fallouts and was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the new direction. Of course it had its pro's and con's and left me with a nostalgia for the original series, but I had a blast playing it.
This community can NOT respond in the same way NMA (No mutants allowed) and other hardcore fans to thief 4's announcement. Nor can we criticize Eidos for anything; WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A SINGLE TEASER. Save the outrage for a time they (if they even will) do something blatantly stupid.
Few communities have the prestige as TTLG and all of the Taffers, so lets not spoil it crying over milk that has yet to be spilt.
To tell you the truth the response of the fallout community was embarrassing to themselves.
Eidos has promised and has already shown an initiative to reach out to this fanbase. ( 3 cheers for René!!) That alone proves they realize Thief is something inherently special and that they are willing to provide the best new experience our Thief-y hands can get.

I think the most important point here is that THEY SHOULD NOT COPY PASTE THIEF 1 AND THIEF 2.
Honestly that's my biggest fear at the moment. Let's be honest, if you didn't like TDS, what made the game bad wasn't that it didn't mime Thief 1 and 2, it just wasn't a very good game (again, just my opinion). What we should learn from that isn't that Thief games must stay closer to the original formula.
EM has to find a way to develop on the typical Thief gameplay. I know many people would be content with Thief 1 in modern graphics, but I wouldn't.

Well said Reliance. I agree 150%! We always go on about what a wonderful community TTLG is and how different it is (in so many good ways) from other forums. Well, now's the time to walk the walk and present a united front. The nitpicking, hairsplitting, and backbiting has to stop or we'll see EM close their door on us in disgust. It would be fantastic if we could put our niggling little differences aside in this forum; I know it's possible to present our ideas and opinions without slitting each other's throats in the process just because we don't agree with each other sometimes

What say you, Taffers?

Wellllll .... I wouldn't want some poor Taffer to slip and accidentally cut his throat on my sword during a heated argument.
Or something .....
P.S. I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO RELINQUISH MY BLACKJACK. :nono:
