- just to talk (the things forums are made for)
has got nothing to do with beeing juvenile - calling others names ("fuckwad") on the other hand isn't exactly, what we call "grown up" you know. This whole stuff of setting yourself above things with such comments and requests (dont talk about that, dont do that...) is a highly questionable action for itsself.
You talk about accepting opinions? Well then start accepting the freedom of speech, because its our right to discuss the things we want here, in a way we want - as long its not plain insultment ("fuckwad") without arguments I think its OK, because it doesn't hurt the forum's rules. If you want a TTLG forum without passionate discussion go write it into the forum rules. Controversial standpoints and argumenting don't make someone a mental teenager.
That people get a little upset about things is perfectly natural for every aspect of life, that just shows that people care for something.
