There shall be a new Dungeon Keeper - but because EA has the rights, it shall not bear the name.
This will either be the best thing of 2011 (apart from world peace) or it will kill one of my favorite childhood memories.

Could be interesting to see how a Dungeon Keeper game turns out without Peter Molyneux.
Much as I love the man's games, with the exception of Syndicate (which was all kinds of awesome) they've always left me slightly unsatisfactory feeling when I get to the end. Fable II, Dungeon Keeper, Magic Carpet, Black & White - I'm looking at you.

What about Dungeon Keeper 2?
mr nobuddy on 21/8/2010 at 15:18
I was referring to 2 (though forgot to name it). Either way, if this blows, the chance the franchise is restored/booted/... approaches zero. There will always be room for a replay but ...

If anything I hope they go for a modern version of Dungeon Keeper 1.
Dungeon Keeper 2's limited army sizes (to keep down the polycount) and odd system to invoke the one(!) Horned Reaper removed a lot of the fun. Also in 1 the AI was more species specific, it had a bigger influence on how to optimize your dungeon (give the bile demons their own roomy sleeping quarters and they were lining up to join your ranks, provided you had enough food that is, of course).
Also I loved the little claim dance the imps did in 1. Ooh, and the species specific 1st person view..
One thing they can improve upon anyway is the ability to zoom out further to get a better overview. Hardware should no longer be a limiting factor in this.

Great news! Always loved both DK1 and 2 as a kid, so more is definitely good news! Also, good thread title. :)

Aww man, I replayed DK1 just a few months ago, brilliant, brilliant game :D I am currently on the 5th level of Theme Hospital, another Bullfrog classic :D

A couple of months ago I spent days playing Startopia. If you like DK or theme hospital, this should be your next stop

A game developed with realistically set goals I'm guessing.

I can only cross my fingers and hope that Dungeons has some charm to it like Dungeon Keeper did. And something to derive from DK must be gold. And must it not be what Bioshock were to SS2.
