I'd actually considered going and signing up for classes at this place when I first heard about it (and was living close enough to go), but I know I'd get frustrated because I want to run up walls and flip off shit NOW, dammit, not stand on balance beams and do stretches and work on my breathing.

The whole tricks vs efficiency is a bit of an old hat. You can move as efficiently as possible (which at least was the primary idea), but nowadays it's mixed up with tricking. It's fun to do so there's no reason for getting into philosophical debate about the nature of the sports.
