We all benefit from NewDark in many ways, and it's removed the need to use a lot of things that were developed to make the OldDark experience more tolerable. I think we should pay our respects to those things.
NV's batch files, using Bright and IrfanView(
http://www.ttlg.com/FORUMs/showthread.php?t=99850)
Remember when we had to reduce all our textures to 256 colours? These batch files made the process so much more bearable, especially for texture families. I hardly ever noticed colour reduction problems, proving how good the algorithms are.
Monolog ViewerBefore we had NewDark's Mono window, NV gave us this little program that regularly read and displayed the contents of monolog.txt. It even came with an option to load Dromed, so the two programs could be launched with but one effort.
DromColors(
http://www.thiefmissions.com/telliamed/#DromColors)
Telliamed gave us this program to change the brush colours. I don't know how widely used this was, but some of the colours were too close to others (e.g. highlighted objects looked too much like lights). We can now set the colours from Dromed.cfg.
FogFixAnother Telliamed program. Fog getting into places were fog shouldn't be? FogFix improved things considerably. In NewDark, fog seems to behave itself.
DromAddOn(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110179)
This had some useful features such as visualizing links and editing them, and accessing object info. If it could read NewDark mis files it could still come in handy.
Not strictly Dromed related, but DDFix deserves a mention. This made the game look so much nicer. Heavly banded cloud textures have a way of dampening the mood, and as time went on it became the only way to even get the game to run. And without Thief FM players, why use Dromed?
Any others that deserve a mention?

I´m still using bright and irfanview

Why on earth are you still using bright? You do realize that you don't have to reduce textures to a common palette any more with NewDark, right? Just save them as a full colour PNG or DDS file.

I don´t know how to reduce them for a colour PNG or dds File.

That's the whole point, you don't have to reduce the number of colours any more, just save the file. Only thing to watch for is not to mix them in the same fam as palettized textures.

Russ in my last mission i tried once using png textures without full. file and it messed up the textures at some point , so i decided to go back to Bright method to avoid problems.
What is a palettized texture?

Just don't use any textures with indexed colour and make sure it's power of 2 size. Other than that, anything goes.

To build on what Nick said, a palettized texture is a 256 colour texture, like the ones that bright produces. You shouldn't need any full.pcx file in any family which has all full colour (not palettized) textures.
