Lovely error that I get loading Dromed sometimes. I think it's a disc read error, as opening the Thief CD drive and closing it again sorts it out.

Why not just perform a full install onto your hard disk and keep the disc somewhere nice and safe?

I don't need a CD anymore for T1, TG, T2, or T3 ... I forget how I learned what to do ... a quick search and this may be of use: (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119976)

Edit darkinst.cfg (or install.cfg for T1/TG/SS2) and remove the cd_path line, that should fix the problem.
