I really hope the company does well, they make more games. I've seen enough comments that people are screaming for more horror games.

Jesus, guys, head on over to GenGaming. As long as you've got something rational and (at least semi-)intelligent to say, it's not as much a pit of vipers and trolls and man-eating chakats as you might think it is.
Okay, I was lying about the last bit.

This looks like a sweet game. I'm gonna have to try it out, sometime. I mean, I wasn't crazy about Penumbra, but I certainly couldn't deny that it was a good game.

Hehe, I signed up to post about this game cos I also loved it and thought iit's very Looking Glass-like but I see you already have a thread going! It would be pretty sweet to see some Thief-like fan missions with that editor they have. It looks easy to use mapping wise, I dunno about the scripting though:

The game already has (very) basic stealth-friendly AI so maybe all it would take is a few tweaks like removing the insanity and changing enemy models/sounds into guards to get a decently modern looking Thief-like experience?
I suppose you also need a way to put out light sources, like water arrows, and maybe a weapon, but the latter we could do without if it's hard to implement, focusing on pure stealth missions or something instead, with the guards being fully lethal having no way to exploit a combat system. Leaning is already in and various object interactions are possible, though there's no mantling. You can read notes and things too, and can script the player to briefly look toward points of interest when approaching. There are many useful tricks and much of the decorative content is very Thief-like too, from fancy rooms to damp dungeons.
I dunno how flexible the tools are and if you can mod the game this much but it would be sweet as it's cheap and not too taxing so perhaps many fans could get it and play it while Doom 3 and how heavy The Dark Mod can be may be too much for some people... Oh, and of course it's great that it runs on Mac, Linux and Windows :)

yes, this game has the city stamp of approval by me. tools are out, seems to be a very intuitive editor for quickly creating rooms:

- you can toggle insanity in the options if you hate it -

Btw, if I'm not intruding too much, there's a Khad LP going on hosted at (
http://letscrosby) his site. Uh, yeah.
The editor looks almost as simple and easy as those of strategy games. Cool.
Al3xand3r on 28/9/2010 at 16:21
@mothra - you toggle some of the insanity graphical effects for performance reasons (or if you hate them), not the insanity gameplay, ie the different things your character sees or that he stumbles a lot if it's too low etc.
@above - I advice against watching any LP, it's fairly short (but fairly cheap!) and that will just spoil it for players.
mothra on 28/9/2010 at 17:16
ok, didn't know that, I left the options as is, I don't mind the stumbling, it makes me feel even weaker ;)

Ehm, it's common sense to watch LP of a game you have already played (ofcourse due to my extreme PC limitation I don't apply to this but I will never play it anyway, so it's my deal).
And watching it after you've done it yourself is cute, especially when it's Khad you're watching.

I played the demo a couple weeks ago. I liked it a lot. Lot's of sneaking around to do. The water area was a change of pace and kept things interesting.
Kind of reminded me of the Silent Hill series where areas just change out of nowhere and become old, dilapidated, and creepy.
I'll pick up a copy when I have the funds.
