Speaking of which, what the hell happened to Deth and Eva? The only thing I know is Eva got banned...again...somehow. But Deth? What's going on there?
edit: someone tell me now! I want some gossip and drama, damnit.
They both got banned at the same time, for the same time period for a row over outmoded 90s catch phrases in a Starcraft game fixing thread. Seems slightly silly to me as the histrionics are part of the flavour here. Ah well.

That's it?

Yep. I could tell you that it was actually because they were planning to turn GenGaming into a licentious free-for-all involving aeroplanes and people's mums in (rather) disturbing combinations but were found out at the last minute and taken care of by the powers that be in a twistedly inventive sendoff involving porpoises, but that'd be reckless exaggeration on my part. And irresponsible. AND slightly exciting, actually, but... enh. I reckon we could still do that if we replace people's mums with sprites from Cho Aniki. Actually. Let's do that. <3 <3<3

So they were all like "I fucked your mom" and...

GenGaming was not like this until relatively recently, and it is A Bad Thing.

1/3 is pretty harsh, so you're saying that dethtoll and eva made up 66% of this forum content?
No, I am saying it is 66% less interesting to me, personally.

Heh. Well, the thread's still there for you to look at, if you want to. Less mountain dew pile driving in there than I'd liked though. I still think the extended ban was a bit of an over-reaction.

I understand what you're saying, Matt, but I think it's been that way for a long time, at least from my perspective; what's changed, I think, is that there's been less actual conversation to offset the outbursts, so the focus tends to gets drawn a little more sharply now.

Nope. Mouselook didn't even exist back in '94, and it's amazing that someone actually took the time to trawl through the code and hack it in.
Well, that depends on how you define mouselook. Even the original Doom supported mouselook on the X axis. Modern X/Y mouselook didn't arrive until 1995, in Terminator: Future Shock (an astoundingly underrated game).

Great, Dethtoll and Eva have managed to derail the thread and they're NOT EVEN HERE.
In other news, I'm finally starting on Planetfall. Wish me luck!

Point taken. I was referring to the modern kind though, involving both axes.
