I just finished A Link Between Worlds and I really liked it. As a sequel to my favorite Zelda game, A Link to the Past, it was a lot of fun and felt like a proper successor. The dungeons were interesting but overall they felt short and were not too challenging. The painting mechanic, where Link turns into a 2D drawing was used in some pretty clever ways. I also liked how you were not locked into completing dungeons in a linear fashion. Dungeons no longer have an item to find. Instead, you rent items from a weird merchant named Rovio. Items are rented on the cheap or can be purchased at a higher cost. I think this made the game less restrictive and liked the change.
Looking forward to starting Etrian Odyssey.

thanks for the review, I have a unused gift voucher and was considering getting this, especially as Link to the Past was one of my fave Zeldas. Shorter dungeons actually sounds pretty good as I dont have as much time(or patience?) for games these days.

I really enjoyed this Zelda game. A lot of them are kind-of hit or miss with me, but this one was really fun to play. There were quite a few moments where I was blazing through dungeons solving puzzle after puzzle in a room and feeling incredibly satisfied. A lot of the bosses were great too. I loved the little touches they got as influence from the Souls games. Seems like Nintendo played them plenty. Looking forward to what they put out on the Wii U. For now, back to Bravely Default (which if you like old Final Fantasy, totally get it!!)

More like A Link Between Creative Bankruptcy. People like to rag on Activision and EA for franchise milking but they ain't got nothing on Nintendo.

In a bunch of millions of years' time, when these threads are buried under the weight of history, information archeologists will dig up this area of the internet and try and figure out what came before them. And all they'll find is a handful of things pressed into sparkling crystal, sunk to the bottom of an ocean of bile and pee and poop, which will lead them to believe that people were mostly walking bladders with anuses attached at the end.
