You best be turning this into a fan mission somehow.

Are you planning to do the roof a little more...well... specific? I know it's WIP and all, but just to increase my post count... :p Hammerite simplicity should be preserved of course, so I'm not sure about arches all the way, but...nah, forget it, I have no real idea after all.

Speak, Beleg, speak! Do you mean the ceiling or the roof? I intend to add detail for both (I already have some!). Do you have any suggestions?

Impressive stuff! 3DSMax intimidated me way too much to go beyond making a couple tubes with holes in them (or something like that, it's been years)
From the looks of the Thief 3 Editor's Guild they are pretty good as textures over there - perhaps when you're satisfied with the construction you could turn it over, they could texture it and import into Thief 3, and we could walk through!

These aren't all of them. There's more in the flickr collection.
I had a little fun with turning the bell "room" into a bell tower. I wasn't sure if I was going to do it at first, but then the idea came to me of making the tower into a hammer (and the thought of being able to see that hammer in the distant skyline) so I knew I had to give it a try. The proportions of it look wrong to me, but that's mostly because the hammer shaft needed to be thick enough to fit the stair into. I could have packed the stairs tighter, but I wanted to preserve the "looking up into the tower" you can only get with the box-flight. A scissor-flight turned so that the narrow part is forward would have looked better from the outside, but there would be no way to look up through the gap in the middle.
The tower's design also seemed to be infected with art-deco... which I tried to do away with (I removed almost all of the decorations I had put on it). Too much bioshock I guess.
The "box" on the west side of the building (opposite the bell tower) was very vague in the OM, so other than making it I didn't do anything with it. It was wider and shorter in the OM, but for the remake it kept it the same size as the base of the tower (it's a copy/mirror actually) because I am going for a sort-of modular layout. Speaking of which, I decided to add one more bay to the sanctuary, to make the hammer layout of the interior more hammer-like and less cross-like (in the OM it's pretty much a cross, not a hammer at all).

can this entire structure be imported into TDS or TDM (with proper collision properties)?
Digital Nightfall on 28/1/2009 at 02:13
No, but all of the static meshes should be able to. That's where most of the work is, anyway. Actually I am not sure about TDM... does it import ASE files?
pavlovscat on 28/1/2009 at 02:20
Very impressive, Digi! I love the bell tower. I got dizzy looking up into the stairway! The whole building really kept the original feeling of THC but has made it so much grander. Great work! :thumb:

Awesome. Some of those shots have an Escheresque feel to them.
