A little bit of Haunted Cathedral Prototypical (UDK version has a video!) - by Digital Nightfall

Looks great! I feel like the facade has a bit too much curving space though; at least the arches right by the doors. I tend to think of Hammers as preferring straighter construction since it would look stronger/unbending to outside forces.

that's amazing!
How long is this taking you to make?

Nice work.
I like the buttress's on the Nov pic, they give it a nice spread out solidity. Any statues going in the niches?
It looks a bit sparse without something there. (Though that's just the traditionalist in me ;))
Have you seen the Jacobs ladder on Bath Cathedral?

Add a couple of minarets and the Jan pic could look very Mosque like. :D
I love a good cathedral, after being dragged kicking and screaming around just about every one worth seeing in the UK as a kid.

Whatcha know, the embed works...
i tried to use the embed text from your post and then put my own you tube link, but all I get is a blank rectangle where the video should be..

Biker, youtube gives directions on how to embed videos.
Namdrol, yep, statues are planned for the niches, though I may redesign the way the center of the front looks. It's feeling out of scale to me. No, I hadn't seen the jacob's ladder before. Very cool!
Nephthys, what you see there is about three days of work (just a few hours a day though) ... no idea how long it will take to finish.
daniel, you're probably right, but I'm not necessarily making a Hammerite church this time. :)
Beleg, soap! Ha! Actually I have a few things in mind to make it seem a little more aggressive, but I'm not actually going for something brutalistic this time. Though it's inspired by THC I don't consider the new one to be a Hammerite church. I did toy with the idea (art deco!) of making it a Mechanist one this time, but in the end it won't actually be tied to Thief.
I uploaded a package containing the final UT2k4 map plus all of the ASE files for each static mesh. After hours of searching the original MAX file has not turned up however... considering that other files dating around Jan - March this year have also gone missing, I suspect that I've either misplaced an archive or some folder got deleted by accident. At any rate, there's plugins to open ASE files in the 3d modeling suite of your choice.

Thanks blackman! I hope to make a video (but done in matinee rather than 'hand shot' like before) of the new one too.

It's coming along...
Schwaa2 on 23/11/2009 at 17:46
Why don't you throw that in Dark Radiant Digi?
It uses .ase's so all you have to do is adjust the material files (copy/paste).
Nephthys on 24/11/2009 at 02:47
is that from the game? Or was it reproducted?
jtr7 on 24/11/2009 at 03:01
That's from the game, though the camera angle is not, of course.:p
Man. It's gonna be awesome to see the inside of Digi's cathedral, if it looks like that on the outside.
