I'd like , firstly , to say what a terrific mission I think this is. I've especially enjoyed exploring all the town's nooks and crannies! Sadly though , I started getting slowdown which made the mission unplayable ( like Garrett walking through treacle!) once I had found the wind chimes at Jeni's house.I've not experienced this before on other missions ( no criticism intended here ).I'm playing at the moment on a laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 card with Pentium 4 3ghz processor and 512 mb ram which has been ok playing Thief 3 etc.Still , as I said , a great mission and I will play again sometime and try to finish it.

raymeld: Many players experienced slowdown with this mission. Have you tried to play the last optimalized version? If not and you don't want to play from beginning (version change implies playing from start), you can try few tricks:
- reload position few steps back... (problem when using only quicksave);
- try to close doors especially doors connecting big parts of FM (this helped me ;) );
- avoid climbing to highs (this helped me too, but not good for playing... :( );

It was a nice mission until I hit the second mission, after about 40 minutes, in the meantime, reloading a few times, and getting on the other side of the town,
via the air mage tower
, the reloading times were increasing everytime, to the point of never loading or causing a full blown crash from a fresh start of Thief 2, the fun ended too soon.
Nice mission but 1.2 is still plagued by a framerate/slowdown bug.
I wonder if there are way too many visible AI or polygons in that area.

I have narrowed the slowdown bug to any one or more of the smoke effects. I removed them all from my copy of the FM, and played twice, first for 45 minutes and second for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I went everywhere and did everything and then some, and there were no slowdowns at all. When Jason comes back I'll rezip this FM and sent it to thief missions.
I'm really sorry about the bug. :( :)
btw did anyone find something that was architecturally incorrect in Jeni's house in Part 2? I wonder if anyone noticed it.

Erm no, I was more worried about the slowdown and changing resolution did not help and neither reducing sound channels.
Oh anyway if you can fix it super cool, if not thank you anyway, I have enjoyed the mission so far.

Well even with the slow down your pc is running Thief just the same as when you started the FM. Thief itself along with certain objects/effects are causing incrementing time-lag glitches, and the length of each "glitch" gets longer as the game is played.
I can rezip the file and put it at my web site. I'll PM you with the link.

That would be so great, man thanks.
