The crashes are probably from being in areas I am not supposed to reach -
like the area above the 3 balconies over the canal. This is a 3 story bar/pub. I got to the top of the building and saw a brief glimpse of a transformer power station room
then I was spat out of the game with a "windows error - do you want to send it etc".
Every time I try to box up to it from the roof next door I lose 2 or 3 health points when I place a crate.
Can you tell me how you got up above the third story pub?
Did you read the note at the beginning of this thread about the crates? I just added a note after I read your post... The red crates will hurt Garrett too.
:)

John - really great level - I'm 52 but love thief.
I'm going to replay it in a day or so and will note where the frame rates drop off.
As I said in an earlier post, it didn't bother me that much because of the machine I'm using, but it was noticeable.
I have 42 processes running in the background of xp and I thought it might've been one of them causing the problem, so I didn't note exactly where it was the first time thru. Will keep an eye out next time and PM you if I remember.
Really good FM and very few errors. Keep up the good work.

I got onto
the top balcony and facing the canal, turned left and jumped up onto the rail and climb/jumped up onto the wall and got onto the roof (above sky level I suppose!) and then saw the generators for a second before windows threw me out with critical error - report it etc. I didn't need any crates.
Hope that is clear enough for you. I always try to go everywhere in a map and often get to places I'm obviously not supposed to get to.
I have sent you some screenies by email - hope they are clear enough.

I'm having the framerate problem, too. I am using an older PC, though (PIII 500, voodoo3 3000, 512 ram). I usually don't have many framerate problems. I've played Part 2 for about 20 minutes, and the problem starts no matter where I go. I can go back to an earlier save and play, but the problem reoccurs after only a few minutes. I've tried restarting my computer with no improvement.

I wonder if I am having the same problem as Sterlino did with Horns of Canzo. Didn't he say there was a frame rate problem because of the DedX AI having too many receptrons?

Zwolf - thanks for the hint about the window - I passed it a dozen times - was looking for a plain glass one and not a painted one.
Your problem with the metal door :
In that bedroom - above the bed is a high window with curtains - hidden switch in top right corner under edge of frame which opens a panel beside that bedrooms light switch - key found.
.
Great level - going to play it again very soon - it's 1am now and time for some sleep.
Thanks Teemac, ya know I roped up there a couple of time and didn't see anything. I'm off to try again! :cheeky:

I really enjoyed this fm. Solid traditional Thief gameplay and it held my interest. I had no flawed video or frame rate problems mentioned by some.
What surprized me was that I missed half of the loot. It must be well hid, so
I think I will be continuing for a good while yet. I hope I find another gas arrow to k.o. that helmet guard. He is one persistent bugger!

If you found the one in the armory, then there is another one hidden somewhere... :cheeky:

The blacksmith is the building with the double doors. The sign in front has three gears on it.
Roughly in what area of town is it in? I've been all over the city, but I can't for the life of me find it. I've completed all the other objectives, though, and once again, you somehow managed to make a city FM that I liked. :thumb:
