The Alfred story was not very well executed. The story goes like this:
Alfred is talking to his friend in the lobby of the hotel. Then he hears loud noise coming from his room which is #4. He mentions having premonitions in the past, so maybe this is one as well. He feels uneasy because he has the only key to his room and there shouldn't be anyone in there. All of this is in a scroll in the house next to the one storey pub.
When you find Alfred dead on the floor you can see that he was having a premonition of his own death. :eek:
It was a last minute addition.

There is a hidden [SPOILER] gas arrow above the narrow walkway next to the fish monger, but it's no secret.[/SPOILER] :) Maybe I should have made it one...
I just uploaded an updated version v1.1 to Jason's site, so look for it maybe tomorrow. Hopefully it will solve the slowdown problems. I never did have any game save/load problems anywhere on the map.

I had the same problem as you. All the objectives were ticked off but the [SPOILER]window wasn't open.[/SPOILER] I went back last night and played it through on "KO" and it worked fine. I opened up a save in "Ghost" and went and [SPOILER]broke the window above the blacksmiths[/SPOILER] which IS an objective while playing on "KO" but NOT on "ghost" At least it wasn't an objective on my pc. Anyone else have this problem. Anyway by doing that I was able to finish the mission. [SPOILER]The window at John's was open after that[/SPOILER] and the mission ended the way it was suppose to. :thumb:

which version of the FM are you trying to play? v1.0 or v1.1
It may be your copy of the file. Try downloading it again. I just downloaded it to a different PC and it works fine. :)

The file is fine on the server:
No errors detected in compressed data of ALoveStory2v11.zip.
The mission info page lists the file size (51334118 bytes) so you can compare that against what you downloaded to see if you didn't get it all.

now it loads fine, but just stalls black when I click on the 'KO' for a new game, and crashes.This is a new one..
