You guys can't possibly think "A Machine For Pigs" is somehow worse than "The Dark Descent," can you?

I like the title. It's weird and evocative. Would a marketing guy agree? Not bloody likely.

If we get vintage Chineseroom style, we can look forward to walking around some atmospheric compound where physics puzzles solve themselves, doors open for us, and some guy narrates about how bad his day's been.
Edit: The title does sound like some kind of quirky surreal film like Delicatessen, with strange people working with strange contraptions to do strange things as their weird version of ordinary ... or a NIN album. You guys have preempted my thoughts on this.

I like the title because it's pretty unusual. It's also funny how everytime it's mentioned, someone has to say it sounds like NIN. Funny because it shows that person knows NIN only from a single video / single album at best. That's because I don't know what that band has to do with pigs aside from Closer video / some The Downward Spiral titles.

Isn't that enough?

Just because he's managed about half of a good album since Chris Vrenna left doesn't mean people aren't familiar with his music. I actually checked to see if there was a bootleg with that title, because I could have sworn there was one around 94-95.

Yes I've never listened to another NIN song in my entire life. (¬¬)
Pfft, there are like only a handful of artists where I splurge and drop every album ever released on my harddrive even though it takes a few GB... The Beatles, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Coldplay fuck you, and NIN.

Ministry, Rush, Led Zeppelin, White Stripes, Doors, Unsane, Ozzy/Dio-era Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, and NiN are the discogs on my iPod that come to mind.

It's not just the reference to "pigs," it's also "machine."
Pretty Hate Machine
Gave Up (Broken Machine)
March of the Pigs
Piggy
I'm sure there's a bunch more, haven't listened to NIN in a while now so I'd need a refresher.

I am definitely looking forward to this, not as much to play, but to watch Day[9] play it. If you're unfamiliar with him, he's pretty much the biggest shoutcaster for Starcraft2 and puts out all kinds of videos (dailies they're called) out considering it (his dailies get around 10k live viewers). Last year's halloween he did a Let's Play of the original Amnesia and it is absolutely hilarious stuff due to him being a complete wuss. Check it out, if you haven't. This year he played some other games, which were good (Slender was awesome), but not as good as the original Amnesia. Here's the first part: (

Here's just the best bits.
