Pretty fun. It's got a light gem, hammerites, water arrows, speed potions, uh, bells (effectively noise arrows) ... Everything but actual looting, but that's ok. For a quick-build game it's great.

I like the sound of this a lot! I played something similar ages ago (on Windows 95 iirc) where as you moved all the enemies would also move, chasing after you, but this sounds a good bit more complex, with shadows and water arrows and the guards not always knowing your position. Very unique and cool. Will need to try it out. :D

This is pretty cool. I planned doing something like this but it never got past the concept phase.

I'm pretty sure the game you're thinking about is called Deadly Rooms of Death or DROD, which by the way has a more contemporary and free (
http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewsitepage.php?id=90294) version out that allows "fan mazes", of which there's a few hundred now. Next to Thief FMs, it's the most fun & prolific fan-made content I know out there. (It says "demo", but it's the full game, as far as the fan maps are concerned anyway.)
DROD has more enemy variety than this. But you're right this little invention brings some cool innovations to the model. I hope it sticks with it and makes a fuller version, including more enemies, tools, puzzles, and story.

Naah, the game I was thinking of didn't have any form of buildings or hallways, just an open grid, and the enemies were robots. The only thing you could do was walk and teleport and the objective was to get the robots to crash into eachother.
