Gloria: Did you get enough loot from all over not just in the parlour? Did you complete the loot objective? The loot in the parlour is not enough for a guard patrolling outside to notice. You can either just run around grabbing loot then run and hide until everyone calms down or use stealth. It takes a while for me to get the loot in the main hall even now without alerting anyone. It is intended to be moderately difficult and needs skill and patience. I love waiting in the shadows trying to time when to make my move even if it takes minutes. I love outwitting them without force. Remember, you are not out to save the world. You don't care about the world. So your natural instinct would be to get every bit of loot you can before trying to 'get somewhere'. After you get there Garrett doesn't know if he'll ever get back this way so get all the loot you can. Anyway, you've got in now so that is the main thing. So I'm assuming the mission didn't fail but you hadn't actually got enough loot before? Or are you saying you completed the loot objective then waited a minute or two but still the guard didn't warn the sentries? You need to have visited the parlour at least once for this to work because I wanted to make sure everyone saw the sentries else it made no sense if they left their posts before you even saw them. I'm sure everyone would on first play but I guess on replay a player might not.
The robot does not have a light on 'hard' difficulty (the lowest level) so you are playing on expert yes? You can put out the robot's light with a water arrow on higher levels - but you better hide! :)
Yes, you've missed the key to Gwen's room. It is not essential but a convenient way of getting up and downstairs. If you want it then consider going back into Nurse Kindly's room - if you dare.

Hi Fidcal, I must confess that I never played your campaign, sorry. Partly if was because at those times, if I remember well, I was desperately trying to finish mine. The other reasons were that it seemed rather difficult, with lots of readables and converstations to understand, which is a problem given my English.
But above all I was under impression that you were forced to ghost (while I hate it). Is it true? :erm: :o

I would not call it ghost but there are parts where you cannot KO or kill. You can use water arrows, leave doors open, run in front of the guards then hide. No, I wouldn't call it ghost. More specifically, this is how it is to the best of my memory:
In mission 1 you are mostly undercover so can walk about freely. You are employed as a guard - the nightwatchman - so you are one of them. No need to cosh anyone in these areas. There is a special objective to 'deal' with someone and the cosh and sword caused technical difficulty I couldn't solve so I left them out. There is an objective on this mission not to harm anyone for this reason. In fact your main arrows & tools were smuggled in separately. There are water arrows, moss, rope, plus some broadheads for other purposes. But there is a section where you are not supposed to go so have to use stealth - in fact, what I call double stealth as you have to scout ahead and signal a friend when it is safe to proceed. But there is no objective not to alert anyone. But it is best not to alert anyone in the undercover areas or then it is harder to play and you don't need to.
In Mission 2 you get sword and cosh and can do what you like on Hard and I think Expert but there is no kill on Director's Cut but KO is OK on all. But there are two bystanders you are not allowed to harm (because their characters continue the story in the next missions.)
Mission 3 carries on from 2 so yes, you still can do the same as in 2 but there is no objective here not to kill or KO.
Mission 4 is the same but there are guards in armour in the main house and difficult to fight (but you can if you want but you have to aim at their arms and legs etc. Similarly for the blackjack. I never tried blackjacking them on the arms - theoretically I suppose it might be possible. The armour does not fully cover them is what I'm saying. There are servants you can KO. There is no objective not to KO or kill anyone.
Feel free to go into Dromed and add sword and blackjack to Mission 1. In fact there is a blackjack on the belt of the guard near the spiral stair. At one time you could get it in the game but I had to make it impossible for the reason given. Move it from him and give it the player if you want. Just remember not to use them on a certain person which will be obvious in the game.
Likewise, feel free to remove the armour in Mission 4 and KO everyone - but you will be missing a treat at the end when something else happens!
Hope that clarifies it and please play - and enjoy. I recommend you do NOT play on Director's Cut. You will not miss anything in any level.

One of these days I'll give a try then. Be prepared of a lot of questions. :D

I'm trying to get myself to the Munitions Room. However, the small elevator at the Lower Gate Poricullis doesn't seem to work. It's as if it's not powered and needs to be activated first before responding to the buttons, although I'm not entirely sure. This should work when being centered and crouched, so I don't understand what's going on here. Ideas anyone?

Only the
'up' button works here on the lower end of the elevator.
You need to go high up and find a way to send down the elevator from the other end.Walkthrough if you are still stuck: (

Thanks a lot jiansonz. I missed out on that one. Funny thing is that earlier on I indeed saw that up there and gave it a shot. Thought something should happen, but it didn't (or I just didn't see the effect):erg:. I probably just missed the target and assumed it wasn't interactive after all. One has to be careful not to waste too many of them broadheads ;)
I think this is a great mission and one has to think very hard about what to do and what else might be possible. For one thing, it's certainly not an FM for simple taffers. Onward to the next chapter then.

Well I hesitate to add my 2 cents because I agree with Gloria Creep on this one. I tried to play Nightwatch a couple of times but the forced ghosting in the first level got me. Also the ladder climbing area off the tower is impossible to climb without dying a few times and I tried many many times. I made it as far as the 2nd or 3rd mission before giving up. I won't go into anymore detail but it wasn't very thiefy to me either. You have to remember that everyone has there own definition of thiefy so please don't take it personaly.
But this doesn't mean it was a bad campaign. I think it was pretty awesome for a first try and I'm sure many loved it. It just was't my cup of tea. What we have to remember is everyone has there own opinions, likes, dislikes and nobody will like every fan mission ever made. But rest assured that I try every fan mission that comes out and will be there if you ever do another T1, TG or T2 fan mission.:thumb:

Sorry to say this, but the name alone is why I haven't played this FM yet. Not an unpromising name, but it rather didn't sound unique, at first. I just watched the FM preview on YouTube though... I am hitting myself, and downloading it ASAP. :D

I didn't remember this thread, but it comes back to me, after reading all of the replies.
I reread this thread and probably I've learned a lot more about playing , but I must say that I still think it's unpleasant to (for instance) climb up a ladder and NOT be able to get on top of "stuff".
That's what I meant and still mean about being "PLAYABLE" :(
I probably should replay it again :sly:
