UPDATE, 7-29-15: I have most of my 'Part II' done now, though am still finishing it and touching up. The project in all will be done by August 8th. Here is the HTML and link for Part II of my project: (

In this part, I look at some of the greats, like
Broken Triad and
Rose Cottage, and cover some
Thief III missions, such as the Cradle. I also will be working on a 'Thief in Context' post, that looks at games before and since
Thief and
Thief II that share design elements with those games. Thanks for any reading you may do! And, as before, I will appreciate any feedback. [End of update]
For an advanced project I'm doing in graduate school, I'm writing about
Thief missions, both the official missions and fan-made missions. I thought I'd share it with the TTLG community just to see what you think. Note that it is a work in progress. (A link is at the bottom of this post.)
BTW, I'm a lurker here, so, though I don't post much, I have been a big
Thief-fan, and have been following TTLG, since the fall of 2000 when I first played through
Thief Gold. I was a young kid then, so for so long didn't even consider creating an account. When I did, I had just started college, and mostly just kept lurking.
I've also always hesitated to share stuff like this here. I don't feel worthy to offer my paltry little things, like a little blog, in a place where so much greatness has tread for so long.
Anyway, this project is for a New Media and Communication program. It's an interdisciplinary program that covers, in inch-deep fashion, all digital media. I've used it to write about and study
Thief,
System Shock, and similar games. (Hey, I got my undergraduate degree at a pretty tough Catholic liberal arts school, so I thought I could do with a softer graduate program.)
Remember, I'm no technical wizard and this is a work in progress. And I do appreciate any of your thoughts and your time.

Please don't hesitate to share things or post! You know that, for the most part at least, people here are pretty nice and we're all Thief addicts. I don't have time to read your blog at the moment and quite frankly, I'm not qualified to critique it but there are lots here who are and I'm sure you'll get some comments on your work.

Thank you each for the feedback. I'm working on part 2 of the project now, which includes Thief III coverage (I'm looking at "St. Edgar", "Moira", and "the Cradle"). I'm really enjoying this, and Thief III is a game that grows on you. Speaking of feeling old, I can't believe it's been over a decade since T3 came out. At the time I thought the first Thief was old, but it was only five and a half years old at that point! And now T3 is past eleven.
As I said, Thief III has grown on me. I guess I'm so used to its flaws because of all my replays over the years that I look past them now. And man, the Cradle...it still gets to me. For this project I'm playing it with the load zones, but this fall I plan on checking out T3 Gold. It gives me an excuse to play through it again!
Anyway, I should have all the Part II content up by the end of the month. I'll update my initial post with a link then.
