A Thief role play (Suggestion of a different type)

I've been suuper inactive but it's all been for a good reason - well, I think it's a good reason. I've been doing a lot research and compiling of data (though I'm not even close to the 10% mark) and at this point I'm little more than tired and worried that my work may not be as fruitful as I'd hoped.

So, I wanted to ask the most dedicated of fans of Thief if this is something that they think would be successful. There's a lot of wonderful FanAuthors here and the missions I've played and been the most zen-like experience I could ever feel.

However, I have another love that I want to share and I've been desiring to make it a reality ever since . . . oh, I'd say around 2005 or so. That love in particular is text-based roleplaying, the joy of writing a plot with another person and seeing it play out into a illustrious story line! However . . . the distinct lack of known members in such a fandom has made me feel like it's a useless dream. Until now, that is - I actually found that people DO roleplay characters of Thief and have even created some impressive original characters.

So, I want to ask if anyone here has ever been interested in a roleplay site about Thief?

You could say 'Just go to Fanfiction.Net' - but I've been there for a long time. It's usually stayed around 100-110 stories . . . which means it hasn't really changed in 10 years xD That's depressing as hell lol

Let me know if you're interested in my progress so far and I'll send you what I've got (If I'm allowed, I'd like to post the link here, but I dunno how that goes). Also, in a bid to find the background image that you'll see (slightly edited to match the motif of the site I was going for) can someone tell me who made that? I had it on my computer for QUITE a while and I can't seem to find the original artist.

Thank you very much and I apologize if I may be overstepping my bounds but suggesting something like this. I am a very big fan but . . . I'm just gonna admit - making fan missions is hard and my talent lies in writing, art and voicing (kinda.)

If anything, I'm interested.

Should the players actually follow the Thief's timeline and story, or is it an alternative reality type where anything can happen once players appear in the City? E.g. could they prevent a rise of Mechanists or, contrarily, make the Metal Age actually happen?

Thanks for the reply and the info~ Yeah, it looks the the entire Ucoz site is down at the moment. Right now I collaborating with someone other fans of the fandom in possibly getting some help and see what kind of stuff we can come with.

To answer your question, Yes - that is very possible! Since the timeline begins right at the beginning on Thief 1, players will be able to get the jump on what happens through out the timeline and either stopping or moving alone the next arc as it comes.

Additionally to that, I was thinking about adding in some paradox arcs where players that opt into (there will be very few slots) they will be able to possibly change the way the city itself functions from the past - to the present.

However, I also hate temporal physics so I don't think I'll go that far xD Simply writing a story seems the most fun instead lol I'll try and get it up ASAP but keep tuned in for a possible new domain; a lot of things are still in working phase.
