Ello.
I just finished Soulforge and am riddled about something. When I found the note with the instructions on how to use the homing beacon, it was stated that once the servants are back in the cathedral, the antenna switches should be flipped back to A, so Karras would be able to issue his orders. Garrett's plan was to draw the servants in the Cathedral and let Karras detonate them there, right? Well why didn't I have to flip them back to A then? Didn't have it in my objectives(hard difficulty).
I can see that it would've made the level a bit annoying - wasting another 20-30 minutes, sneaking through the old routes, but it kinda doesn't make sense this way.

I thought that "A" was to leave them in their locations in the mansions and "B" was to call them to the Cathedral. Karras could apparently send signals WAY beyond Soulforge. Can you bring up the original script? I'm in the middle of an FM right now and I don't feel like digging through those folders.

Errr which file contains the scripts?

Misinterpretation. The A signal was Karras' private band. His intent was to issue the order to the servants while they were out of Soulforge.
The B beacon was a recall, but still permitted signals from Karras to the servants and allowed Karras to give the order to self-destruct.
The servants returned unbeknownst to Karras. He gave the "Kill 'em all" order and the servants released the gas in Soulforge.

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought.

"[...]When they arrive, thou must immediately switch the Signal Towers back to 'A' so that I can give the servants further instructions, as the servants cannot hear my instructions when the Signal Towers are set to 'B'.[...]"
How can one misinterpret that?

I seem to recall some text about him having a master switch in his room to flip to A when he's ready.

Yeah otherwise he's be running all over the place flipping switchs. I'm sure he had a master thingie.

Except in order for Karras to know to switch to A with his master switch he would have to know that at the moment it was B, which would mean that he would know the servants were returning to soulforge and would do something about it. So there.

I think the Towers still were set to 'B' when Karrass gave order to release gas and servants heard it. Perhaps servants can hear Karrass' orders regardless of Towers settings but only if servants are close enough.
