Or perhaps he just has a seperate button for detonation, that is directly linked to the devices in the servant's masks, and it doesn't need to be "heard".

Yeah otherwise he's be running all over the place flipping switchs. I'm sure he had a master thingie.
Or he could have one of his Children do it for him. And as KingAl said, he won't know they are set to B in the first place.

I think it's the best version.

Agrees to the latter. I've always believed the Beacon was used to transport them (there was something about updating Servants) and Karras has all the reasons to believe they are in right places.
BTW:that end-movie is the BEST-CHANT-EVER. Beats even the Trickster's Ritual.

Also in the end movie, remember how he placed his hand in the recepticle that looked vaguely precursor? It would seem to suggest that is was something intended, wheras the thing with the guiding beacon may have been more of a hack.

Perhaps the thing he put his hand on was a master switch for the precursor masks themselves and he doesn't actually use the lever setup to set them off. Then again, he may have been touching it as a reference to precursor technology.

If all the servants were in Soulforge, he didn't need the transmitter towers, the servants would be in range of his control signals without them.
Yeah, that's it.

Dude...
"[...]
When they arrive, thou must immediately switch the Signal Towers back to 'A' so that I can give the servants further instructions, as the servants cannot hear my instructions when the Signal Towers are set to 'B'.[...]"

Nah, I'm pretty sure they can recieve the signal from "B".

They can "hear" command to release rust gas without towers.
Yametha on 11/4/2006 at 14:23
Just thought of something I didn't think of before... the rust gas was also precursor technology, so it would go with the masks, and presumably have its own trigger, independent of the signal towers. Only the mechanists' modifications to the masks would have needed the signal towers.
